The statistics and people knowing that they really really really have to quarantine themselves, right?

Just curious, but how complicated is this test? I only ask because during the Trump press conference yesterday, someone asked him how the test went, and he seemed like he couldn't understand the question, and alluded to the complexity of the test, like it was the ACT or something.....

To me, it seems like this is as simple as a swab in your mouth. If that is the case, why couldn't he have just said it took 30 seconds and they swabbed my mouth?

Actually its not. They can take those weak positive samples and use them in an effort to find a medicine that suppresses it AND they can have a greater sample of symptomatic people to know if it is mutating

More data for leadership to make decisions. More data is absolutely necessary, especially moving forward, to watch cases go down due to all of these containment efforts. We have to know what's working or what's not.

TDs how did it work? Did you have to have an order in your hand or was your name on a list?? I mean you couldn't just drive up I assume?

I had to show orders from my doctor in order to even get in line. BRPD was there confirming and allowing you to enter the line. It was a line of cars, so nobody ever gets out to expose others or vice versa. Closer to the testing tent, I had to show them my license through the window, then they confirmed I had an order under my name and then they stuck a test kit under my windshield wiper for the nurses/techs to complete once I got into the tent.

Nobody ever gets out of the car and of course, all the workers are wearing gowns, masks, and face guards.

I think they shove a swab up your nose, fairly close to your brain.

if/when we accept that it isn't worth testing, we have to accept that everything needs to shutdown completely and people are forced to stay home except employees of essential businesses (medical, pharmacy, grocery). At least now we can test to slow the spread.

Yesterday they tested 200. I’m guessing 50-70 have the virus.

The negative test rates are in the 90%+ range...where are you getting your number from? 200 tests would yield less
han 20 positives in a high virus area, not 50 to 70.

If they were sent by their doctor to be tested, it meant they were displaying symptoms of a serious respiratory condition and running a fever so they should already be mindful of not getting others sick, whether it's the flu or COVID-19.

People are obsessing over a "Virus Scorecard" being updated online. Craziness.

Then there would be 130-150 more people documented with CV.
Right?

That’s for the flu test. The covid test is a throat swab.

When I was tested for the flu, I’m 99% positive the dude swabbed my brain. It was counter productive for him, too. He surprisingly wasn’t wearing a mask when he swabbed me for flu and when he swabbed my nose, I swear 4” deep in there, I immediately coughed and sneezed at the same time.

Oh well, stupid arse should’ve been wearing a mask. I couldn’t help it, it was an immediate reaction. I bet he wore a mask after that, though!

Here come the dick jokes but I hate those throat swabs. I have a bad gag reflex and have almost puked on a few nurses

Someone posted about a 37% positive rate earlier and I used that as a guesstimate.

It was me. According to the state this morning, 457 tests were completed and 171 have been positive. Using those numbers, it’s a 37.4% positive rate among those being tested, who show symptoms.

What were your symptoms to make you see a doctor? If you don’t mind me asking

I had fever over 100 this weekend and developed aches and one hell of a deep, gurgling cough. I called to see what they wanted me to do and was told to go to the parking lot and call back when I got there. I did that and they came out to test for flu and strep.

Once those were negative, they sent me to BR to get the covid-19 test.

Yes because the test tells they don’t have it right now. They could get it tomorrow.
