I’m surprised they don’t need much more space in the overpass district.

Some of the people there made it sound like they were leveling everything in sight for this.

They aren’t doing anything to George’s.

It appears (to me at least) that the closing of the Perkins road on/off ramps will give them the room needed to expand the interstate without having to touch george's, city park, etc. I hate losing the perkins road exit, but the perking on ramp sucks b/c there isn't enough room to merge properly which just slows down the interstate right there.

He didn’t sell, just has a tenant now and will get the best of both works. Doesn’t have to relocate and gets money for his property.

Troys is not the affected barbershop. The business in question are under there the interstate closer to Duvics and further down the corridor

Can't they buy up some more shite hole houses and leave the Merchant District alone? It's one of the few cool parts of BR that's left.

The businesses include The Overpass Merchant, a restaurant under I-10 near the Perkins Road overpass and a convenience store, salon and barber shop.

that store, although its now a ghetto blunts-and-purple drank store, was from the 1950's thru the 90's called Service Grocery and was owned by my grandfather and later he and his son. they were butchers, and ran one of the last full-service small butcher shops in the area.

he hand-cut all of his meat from whole primals in the walk in, made his own italian sausage in the store, and even processed a few deer occasionally. we spent hundreds of saturdays running around that store

i havent been in there in 30 years, i guess i need to go have one last look

One of the owners of Lamar owns the Overpass Merchant building. I highly doubt he will stand in the way of the interstate widening.

Troys seems a little far, I would think they would have to frick with Bolton's and Ivar's if that were case.

Pretty sure he owns the fricking building and leases it to its current tenants, who happen to be friends with his son.
