Bold prediction: Barstool fund will raise $100M. He’s already at $10M and the awareness of what he’s doing is hitting an inflection.

it’s not completely out of the question. Tom Brady retweeted it last night... if it breaks into his elite circles it could get really, really big

I could see Kraft throwing a couple million himself. Robert Kraft is really a great guy. It sucks the police had to frick with him like that.

It really makes you wonder if their intention is to shutter as many businesses as they can.

Considering that the government (GOP) is all about giving tax breaks and stimulous to large corporations you probably aren't too far off.

You’re right. The democrats have absolutely nothing to do with shutting down small businesses

I'm still yell trying to decide if the dude really cares about helping small businesses, or if he just wants to spread his face across the internet even more.

Portnoy is a blowhard but he's been pretty harsh against the lockdowns and what it's doing to people since April.

His emergency press briefing where he ranted against the government shutdowns keeping going and reviewing frozen pizza was my first introduction to him really and he's been pretty consistent since then.

either way, why does it matter? If he donates $1 for attention vs donating $1 because he cares, those dollars have the same buying power for the person receiving it.

The guy has voiced his concern for small businesses and his frustration for what the government is doing to them for months. Someone asks him to put his money and time where his mouth is and he does. Call me naive, but I think it's genuine. With that said, I'm sure he's not upset about the extra exposure. But that's kind of his nature, he does everything in front of the public.

No, it doesn't matter. He's a good dude, but someone's gotta give him shite for being such an attention whore.

I'm just giving him shite. I think it's great what he's doing.

Pretty awesome move by Portnoy. Don't care if it's for attention; the money is going to people who need it either way.

I like what he said about LeBron. They asked him if he'd change his opinion of LeBron if LeBron donated. Portnoy said something along the lines of "yeah but LeBron can't find a way to make this about himself so I guarantee he won't donate.."

Govt shouldn't be in the stimulus business generally, and no covid bill needs another item other than American covid issues they are trying to address.

Opening back up, and cutting taxes is the best way to stimulate the economy and doesn't require waste, fraud and abuse

this is rational and therefore will not be considered in any govt action

Media loves to hate on Barstool for some off handed comments several years ago, yet I don’t see any of them helping small businesses or fundraising tens of thousands for a fallen firefighter’s family like last year

Because the media is actively trying to crush small businesses to where we are only accountable to them and the oligarchs that write their checks. I used to think Trump was over the line when he called the media the enemy of the people, but he is correct. They are the army the oligarchs use to get their way. Carlin put it best (god would I want to see him do stand up after this year): Governments don't want a population capable of critical thinking, they want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation.

I don't think its anything nefarious more so than it is just straight up incompetence.

And here he is telling his viewers it’s illegal to look at Wikileaks but it’s different for the media and don’t change the channel because we will tell you what to think. He also said on television that his brother was the greatest politician in American history, which how CNN didn’t cut his mic off right and throw his arse out of whatever story window he’s broadcasting out of shows that they’re evil liars.

And that’s just one person. Want me to go on? I got a whole freighter full of this. These people are evil and should be shunned. Whenever Chris and his brother walk into a room, they should be treated as if they have airborne Ebola. I hope in New York they just go ahead and ban anyone whose last name is Cuomo from making a reservation or accept any form of payment from them.

These counts are trying to consolidate power and put us under their boot. Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt that they’re simply dumb and incompetent, they are evil and want to take your livelihood from you.

Who gives a frick? Even if you assume the worst, most narcissistic motives, he is still helping people keep their livelihood. Meanwhile, a bunch of douchebags in city halls, state legislatures, and on Capital Hill have not missed a paycheck while watching their constituents lose everything. It's fricking sickening.
