Portnoy’s content is usually hit or miss for me, but his Twitter has been gold the past few days

Twitter

Dave has been outspoken about the lockdowns and lack of support from the govt & was challenged by another millionaire to pony up some cash to help out small businesses. Barstool matched $500k and started a fund to directly aid restaurants and other service businesses. So far it has raised $7 million to fund various businesses expenses and payrolls to keep those places afloat and ensure their employees have jobs the next few months.

Media loves to hate on Barstool for some off handed comments several years ago, yet I don’t see any of them helping small businesses or fundraising tens of thousands for a fallen firefighter’s family like last year

And that fund will be more effective than the trillions of dollars the government has pissed away on pork so far

Yep. In one week, Dave Portnoy has done more for small business than our government has since April.

It really makes you wonder if their intention is to shutter as many businesses as they can.

Why would the media help small businesses?

Uh, Amazon, Walmarks, Lowes, etc. have all paid damn good money to make sure this happens.

I don't think its anything nefarious more so than it is just straight up incompetence.

Amazing. I’ll have to read up on that. When do people realize that charity money given locally is much more beneficial than higher taxes which get spent overseas on stupid shite?

I was going to mention that. Fieri has done great things through all of this.

Portnoy said the other day that he contacted all the major news outlets and Fox News was the only network that would have him on to talk about his fund for small biz...

Fox News or Tucker Carlson? Fox seems all in now with the COVID fear porn and encouraging people to give up their lives for the “greater good.”

Govt shouldn't be in the stimulus business generally, and no covid bill needs another item other than American covid issues they are trying to address.

Opening back up, and cutting taxes is the best way to stimulate the economy and doesn't require waste, fraud and abuse

I’m gonna have more hoodies than I can possibly ever use if barstool keeps releasing merch of all the businesses they are helping. I’m buying one of every place with a cool logo

I don’t know how I missed this, but just saw it’s at over $10MM. I’ve always loved Portnoy, but this is pure class. He’s been sharing videos of small business owners around the country.

He did a documentary with 4 chefs about the closing of their restaurants
They started filming when they were shut down
You see these people on tv & don’t think about the fact they have 4 restaurants & employ hundreds of people

Restaurant Hustle 2020: All On The Line, co-directed and executive produced by Guy Fieri, will be a real, raw look at how Maneet Chauhan, Antonia Lofaso, Christian Petroni and Marcus Samuelsson managed their restaurants during the height of the pandemic.
