Why not just make a federal law that states you are not a adult until 21. Other wise it is age based discrimination to make some things legal and others not based upon age. It is retarded that you are a adult legally at 18 and cannot by alcohol. But yet you can join the military, you can serve on a jury etc etc. Now they want to take gun ownership away from 18 year old adults. Someone please explain how this is legal or makes any sense?

Because politicians want the young, dumb and ill informed kids voting for them.

No sex with 18-20 year olds?

I don’t want to live in that world.

Raise it to 21. Who cares. Those crazy arse kids who would likely shoot up a school lack motivation and drive. Don't let them buy a gun at a store and they will focus on playing x-box and smoking weed. They aren't going to do the legwork to find a street gun. They will meet some nice fat emo chick that lets them bang 'em and their focus will shift elsewhere by the time they are 21. 18 vs 21. Still get your AR, but have to wait 3 yrs. I'm all for guns and all for raising it.

A long time ago, I was at a party for my girlfriend's dad's law partner, they were big attorneys in the area, had several influential people there. I was 19 or 20, got the chance to talk to a senator, and I was going to convince him why I should be able to drink under the age of 21. I threw out some talking points, he looked at me, and said "son, I'm 53 years old, and as long as they don't make the drinking age 54, I don't care."

you got to be 25 to rent a car from some places. That's after you been a "full" adult for four years.

Hell with the way things are now. Lets define an adult as 30, the 20's can be an extension of the teen years

It does not make sense but the politicians have to "do something". Nevermind if it will actually result in less gun violence. The rights of 18-21 year olds are an easy target.

It's legal because 18-20 year olds aren't a protected class of citizens.

This isn't how age discrimination works.

You can rent a car when younger than 25. They just charge you a hell of a fee to do it.

It’s hilarious to me that the same people who tell everyone else they shouldn’t discriminate and that people are whatever they are in their head feel it’s okay to discriminate on age when it fits their agenda.

The left “oh you feel like a woman even though you’re a 34 yr old man with a family? Congrats on being a woman, you’re so brave!”

The left “I don’t care if you feel twenty one, you’re only 19 and you can’t buy a gun!”

Shouldn’t all citizens be protected from discrimination?

I didn't realize there was an age limit on buying spray paint until I saw some teenager being turned down at a Home Depot the other day.

I remember going to the store at like age 6 to buy beer for my mom.

I think if you raised the "adult" age to 35 people would still like kids till 34. Up until a few decades ago 15 year olds were damn near adults... especially WWII and before that.
