Both cameras views were quite uneventful. Actually a little surprised.

that's it

quite possibly but, there were some really nice houses there.

seems like a lot of $$ to spend on a place with zero protection.

Ono Island Real Estate Stats
Total Listings: 33
Average Price: $978,852
Highest Price: $3,400,000
Lowest Price: $74,900

definitely exaggerated.

Yeah, water was already close to the dunes at my family's place in Ft Morgan yesterday. Probably only needed another foot or two of surge to reach them. Aunt drove home last night so not sure what it's looking like today.

That's a big exaggeration. A couple of homes are for sale right now, for 641k and 899k.

I'd say "Ono" is about right for anyone with a house there right now.

yeah, go figure the dolphin cruise guy exaggerated.

i mean, i know that's like 1 month's salary for an OT baller but, $641k for a house on an island with absolutely zero protection from storms sounds crazy.

So what protection from storms do all the other barrier islands and low country coastline have from storms that this particular island does not?

It's not even a barrier island. It's on the bay side, so it is a little more protected that something directly on the beach I guess. Biggest risk would be flooding, but I'm no expert.

Man it can be brutal there and I've never stayed thru anything like this one, I can't imagine a direct hit. It doesn't take much to inundate the west end. I was there during TS Barry in 2019 and Cristobal this year... hella luck I have huh. I always wanted to ride out a big storm but Barry was enough that I decided I want no part of that, at least not in a little house on stilts. I big concrete and steel condo maybe.

I looked around there a little over a year ago. You can get a pretty nice house for $400k - $600k. Your looking at about $250 per sqft. Not crazy at all.

I’m headed to a house on the beach in Perdido Key in two weeks. Hope the beach is still there.

The Grand is our go to spot every year and I’m really worried about them now. Doesn’t look good at all.

Ono Island...and while there are certainly many houses at that price and well above there are still plenty in the 500 range too.
