It’s really based on a rivalry between Nebraska (cornhuskers) and some other team they were rivals with.
A fan of the rival team wrote a poem about Cornhusker fans smelling like corndogs to make fun of them.
An unoriginal Auburn fan (once our fierce rival) took the poem and replaced Nebraska with LSU once after we beat them. What they didn’t do was change corndogs to something more Louisiana inspired (of which there are many things they could’ve chosen)
Hence why we are called “corndogs.” Makes no sense, but we have had no choice but to embrace the lore as is.

Who buys frozen corn dogs?
We either buy them fresh from Sonic or if you’re lucky to still have one of these around,
