fricking tragic.

It’s one thing to be in the wrong, but to be flying the route you are supposed to and someone else fricks up and you lose your life.

That’s the kind of shite that scares me when it comes to GA aircraft.

This certainly isn't the only dumbass comment in this thread, but some of y'all need a little fricking perspective.

This same B-17 was just in Cullman, AL last weekend. Crazy and sad. Prayers out to their families.

this

it isnt like a video game where you have 360 degree view.

The pilot of the smaller plane couldn't see the B17.

the modern-day approach patterns of Navy planes landing on carriers has everything to do with f4u-corsairs not being able to see one damned bit of the boat landing straight on.

relic fighters have zero visibility up front.

Sad! They got up this morning. Dressed for the occasion. Had breakfast. Fired those old war birds up. Before sunset they were dead.

We take consolation knowing they died doing what they loved to do. They're flying with angels now, and I don't mean the U.S. Air Force Blue Angels.

R.I.P.

When the B17 flew early in the day the PA announcer said it was the final flight for the pilot because he was retiring. I am not sure if he meant that flight was his final flight or if today was his final day.

That explosion seems overly large for a crash like that? I’m surprised there was such a huge explosion?

Also did I see a guy in a parachute at the end there? Did he survive?

I am pretty sure the wings are the fuel tanks. Jet fuel, air, and sparks are bad combination when the plane hits the ground.

Just showed the inside of the smaller plane , same model plane, that crashed into bomber. There is no way he saw the bomber below him. You cant see anything below you while flying it.Total accident all the way around.Maybe better planning was needed on performing these stunts with all these planes in the air at the same time.

Av gas vaporizes more readily than jet-a.

2 of the pilots are out Houston. 2 pilots from the Commerative Air Force West Wing were involved.

The B-17 was at Wings Over Houston 2 weeks ago.

There’s a wide angle view of that flyover out there. Dozens of planes. Whoever planned and coordinated that shitshow is an a-hole.

Those planes run on 100LL. WAY more flammable than jet fuel. It's leaded gasoline.
