All the food, drinks, entertainment, movie tickets, etc. doesn't make up for this discrepancy? I mean, it's misogynistic to make women pay their share for these things on dates isn't it?

Women want these treats pants or those personal hygiene products and will pay a premium for things. And retailers price accordingly.
