I’m far from skinny, but it always amazes me to see just how many overweight girls there are in Louisiana. It takes very little effort to stay a decent size

haha. I love the girls that say they have curves and like mexican food so just deal with it. No thanks, because if you are this big at 28, just wait....

the highest i got to was 190 after a few years of college and had a 34 inch waist. I will never go back to that.

34s are gigantic on me now.

Sure diet plays a huge role, but for the most part, Americans are more sedentary compared with our European/Asian counterparts. Travel abroad for some time and you’ll see how so many cultures walk way more than we do. Some people in Europe walk 8-12 miles a day. We use a car for everything here in the US.

well to them, driving somewhere thats an hour away is unthinkable. While most people have that as their commute everyday in the states.

According to that article, the avg. American male is near a 40 but the most popular sized pants/shorts are a 34" waist. They said this is due to "vanity sizes" and men buying what they have always bought. If vanity sizes are a thing and most common size is a 34" waist, a lot of people have around a 36"-37" waist.

men tend to wear looser fitting pants at the waist. girls need help getting into theirs. Some even put little cuts in them to fit.

Don't they measure a woman's waistline higher than a man's? Thought I heard that somewhere.

I confirmed my measurement with a tape measure.

I will never understand why this woman is famous & given a platform to spew BS.

Is Self Magazine going to feature a heroin addict next? “My health is none of your business!”

When she got the tat it was intended to be Peppa Pig...a few dozen trips to In and Out later and you have Miss Piggy.

The article specifically named Old Navy as having over double the extra room in their vanity sizes as most other retailers.

Well, then the article is spot on. I can put on the absolute smallest size they make, and I'm swimming in them. Granted, I don't particularly like their clothing anyway, but it infuriates me that vanity sizing has made it to where I literally have 2 stores I currently fit for pants.
