12 at my first, 7+ currently

Probably 4 years per. That being said, the longest tenure with a company was switching jobs internally to get out of the field. Been at my current company a year and a half and will be here as long as they'll have me.

Including my college internship:
5 years on average...but I've been at my current job for 14.
ETA...first 20 years were consulting...so there was a lot of movement from one firm to another as contracts changed/realigned.

My average is 4.75, but I've been at my current position for 13. Jumped around a few spots right out of college I guess.

22 years in the work force, 2 jobs. 11 years is my average

23 years in and retiring in 12

Now let’s talk about the average time a recruit commits to a college before he texts “respect my decision” to decommit
Posted on 7/17/24 at 4:33 pm to sidewalkside
Post college it's 2, 10 and 12 so 8 year average.

Current job: 23 years

4-5 years. The company I’m with now is working to go public, so I am a part owner. After the option/buyout, I’m sure there will be a management exodus, so I’ll probably stick around indefinitely so long as the pay structure remains the same. Advancement opportunities will be abundant.

shite I’ve been with the same company for the last 22 years.

22 year career so far. My average is 6 years. My shortest stint was 4 years. I realized quickly that it wasn’t a great fit, but stuck it out and actually learned a lot I still carry with my in my executive role. I plan on retiring with my current company.
I honestly feel anything less than two years, and you never learned or contributed to the overall makeup of the company and don’t take much leadership value with you.

I left my first job out of college because the pay was shite and I was getting married. I left for like a 75% raise.
I might have spent my entire career at my 2nd job if we didn't get sold to another company. It went to shite after that.
I'll probably stay in my current specialty for the rest of my career, but I won't be surprised if my current company of 12 years gets acquired at some point either.
