Austin 'at the brink of disaster' as police shortages hit crisis level: 'God help us all'

Austin, Texas residents are expressing outrage over police staffing shortages and longer 911-call response times in the aftermath of the city council's vote to defund the department in 2020.

In February, a section of the city was notably left without a single police officer for a few hours on a Saturday due to the ongoing shortages.

Austin Police Association President Michael Bullock, who called attention to the vacancy on X, told Fox News Digital that a steady decline in public safety has put the city on the "brink of disaster."

So I don’t understand. Austin go exactly what it asked for.

It’s hilarious that all those California people left to go to the liberal haven in a conservative state and they’ve managed to turn it into the shite hole that is California. It’s like a mind virus.

Did you guys read it? They didn't defend the police force. A city council elected to make new office contracts shorter, and a bunch of cops have retired in the past year. That, combined with cops being unable to effectively recruit people into doing a shitty job, has created the shortages.

But hey, let's blame the boogeyman anyway.

I propose, that from now on, we refer to Jay Are as “The Boogeyman”.

Honest question - what outcomes were these people expecting?

The people that supported defunding the Police see the world thru a childs' eyes.

They only know what they want at any particular moment.

The concept of repercussions and personal responsibility are alien concepts.

It’s a shitty job because the have to deal with Democrats.

They intentionally wanted to hamstring law enforcement.

In Austin, they succeeded.

They deserve everything bad that happens to them.

I was offered a job at my agency two days before Dallas PD called and offered. So glad things worked out the way they did.

That's actually inaccurate, they have been importing democrats for decades. Even in the 90s, I knew it was destination Farked. It wasn't great 30 years ago.

Whether those "keep Austin weird," where all the weirdos are essentially the same and the opposite of unique flowers, came from California or not matters not.

If there's anything consistent about this forum, it's you with the shite takes, no matter the board.

What's it like being so consistently a dick slurping piece of shite that's wrong on....well...everything?
