If anything, he'd have thrown me down harder.

If a cop told me to exit the vehicle and I hugged the steering wheel and shouted "no", I'd expect to get tazed.

I just think for a cop to cross that line to be physical with someone like that, there needs to be more there. Yes, she was acting stupid. I do not agree with what she did, but I don't think what she did merits getting tossed and tackled. That's just my opinion.

Let me ask you something. What do you think a person willing to get out of the car after getting pulled over is capable of? That's some brazen shite.

I bet 1 in a 100+ drivers decides to get of their car because it's stupid.

They most certainly can. But why would she? She already went and sat down in her vehicle. If she wanted to flee, she would have right away. Once again, common sense.

Newsflash: people do dumb illogical shite all the time. The fact that she quickly pulled into Wendy's and tried to pull the whole "I was just going get a frosty" thing probably had him on high alert to begin with.

Disorderly conduct.

No, though resistance should be met with enough resistance to ensure compliance when apprehending someone for a crime. Definitely not going beyond protocol or abusing the power.

Again, she didn't get tossed for mouthing off. She got tossed for non-compliance and resisting.

No reason to be afraid of black people in the U.S. They are the biggest group of crybabies in the world.

So what? It's like the Sandra Bland case where he asks her to put out her cigarette. She didn't comply and he went apeshit. So once again, he asked her to do something of no consequence, and she didnt' comply. So what? Move on.

She didn't comply and he asked again. please.

She continued to not comply and then voiced she had no intention of complying with her "could you please hurry up"

To which he simply gives her a different order to "Okay, ma'am stand up for me, okay?"

to which she retreats further into the car as evidenced by him having to lean in to grab her arm.

quote:

Did she? It's hard to tell from the video.

considering she is so far in the car that the officer at 0:58 is waist deep in the car trying to get her out and he is having to pull on her to get her out, it is not at all hard to tell she was resisting in the car.

quote:

Same as above.

at the 1:04 mark she swings with her right hand at his face he grabs the right arm (he had been pulling her out of the car by the left arm) and uses that to swing her to the ground.

at the 1:04 mark when both of their heads are in line with the red signs across the street you can see the cop leaning back to avoid the hit to the face and the ladies hand in the air between them as she was swinging.

I'm sure there are people who would be willing to do a lot. I also think there are people who would do nothing. It's a cops job to judge a real threat. I think the fact that she was sitting in her car when she was dragged out is enough to say that she just wanted to be pissy to the cop. He should have laughed at her and gave her the ticket. I think the cop let his temper get the best of him.

I would have liked to see the officer give her several direct verbal orders to exit the car and place her hands behind her back before going hands on but that's kinda nitpicking. I don't usually like telling someone they are under arrest or being detained without already having a hand on them in case I need to gain control

As far as him "throwing" her to the ground and excessive force being used. She was giving him all he could handle for a while. When two forces are acting against each other when one gives way its usually a pretty violent looking affair. I also noticed that while she was screaming she wasn't actually doing the same things she was screaming.

When she said "can you hurry up" all he had to do was take his sweet time. I know it's passive aggressive but he wouldn't be under investigation for taking too long to write a citation.

Is it really that clear? I've watched it several times and I see her arm come around, but he was also dragging her out aggressively so who knows.

I don't really defend her actions after he asked her to get out of the car.

All I'm saying is, all of this could have easily been avoided by different actions from the cop. Even the chief says so.

You mean when he told her to get out of the car after and she said I am getting out and he gave her one half second. Before yanking her? Let me put it this way, the chief said he was wrong.

completely agree.

Also

Im no small fella and I have a lead foot. I've been pulled over in nearly every state I have driven in and despite being able to give nearly any officer all they wanted and more I have never been drug out of my vehicle and slammed to the ground and handcuffed. And I have met a few cops who were real assholes.

I wonder what the difference is?
