He didn't do a good job of maintaining composure, but it almost seems like she was setting him up to do everything he did. Cops are on edge, as they should be. They have targets in their backs and a skinny woman is just a capable of shooting someone as a man is. He gave her clear instruction and she clearly did not want to comply.

You are the biggest idiot this board has ever seen. Puffing out your chest loud and proud like you pay this cops salary, not even knowing the teachers is paid for by taxes too (no way she is smart enough to not be at a state school).

A no win situation? All he had to do was step back and lower the tension by saying something to the effect of "ma'am, would you please get out of the car or shut your door and stay in the vehicle?"

That wasn't even the sequence of events. By the time he was asking her to step out of the car he was arresting her. He wasn't giving her a second chance after not complying with several requests to shut the door.

What makes you think she was going to listen anyway? The whole time she was saying one thing and doing another.

Is there nobody teaching them at a young age how to act around police officers?

If you watch any interviews with these protestors they will tell you that they are scared for their lives of the police because one wrong move and they will get shot. Next breath out of their mouth they are yelling about how they don't have to show the police no respect or do what he says just because he has a badge on because black people are justified in not trusting police ( for some made up BS reason)

Around the 2:05 mark she tells the officer "Im trying to put my hands behind my back", while her hands are out in front of her... Congrats on your stupid prize.

She said something to the effect of "don't touch me. let me get out of the car".. and the officers response was to body slam her. he never told her she was under arrest.. he simply asked her to step out of the vehicle. after her response (that indicated compliance) he attacked her.

you guys realize that police are trained to deescalate a situation.. not escalate them, right?

officer made several mistakes that would have been avoided had he used the techniques he learned in training.

I am out of sympathy for these idiots who think they can mouth off to cops or resist arrest consequence-free.

This. I do believe that we need to force body cameras and standards. But most police are just trying to do their job and most excell at that job.

I'm tired of giving a shite about every felon who mouths off to a cop.

She knew exactly what she was doing. She knew it was being recorded. Everything she was saying she was trying to do, she was doing the exact opposite of.

That's because she was talking and not doing, which was her MO throughout the entire sequence. He wanted her to step our of the car to arrest her. You know that, she knows that and everyone knows that.

what about sympathy for a woman who said "let me get out of the car. don't touch me".. and then got body slammed.

hell we just had a guy get shot with his hands in the air trying to protect an autistic kid from the police.

She couldn't step out with him in her face like that. Just one more mistake made by the officer.

Question: What does the officer have to lose by taking a step backward (before he physically touched her) in this situation?

You keep saying she said " don't touch me." He's a cop, he has that right. Who the hell did she think she was talking too?

Also, there seems to be time missing between when he asks her to get back in the car, and when the video show him at her window...why not show the entire video?

Some videos get edited to paint cops in a bad light.

I just watched this again. You're full of shite, BMY. He was already grabbing her and wasn't asking for her to step out of the car. She was being pulled out of the car and resisting when she said she will get out of the car.

His life if she reaches for a gun? Easy way for this to not have escalated was for her to put her feet in the car like he told her to do and give him the drivers license.

Play stupid games, spend the night in jail or in the morgue.

He gave her a verbal command. She quite clearly responded with something to the effect of "Do not touch me. Let me get out of the car. Do not touch me." and was then body slammed.

Here's a better question: does it scare the shite out of you that she is teaching 2nd graders?
