This happened a year ago and is coming out now? Curious.

I agree with many on the board.

Both walk away clean here.

Ehh, many on this board have given the cop a pass. Some of the more rational folks seem to see that it is entirely possible for BOTH parties to frick it up, but there is a significant chunk of people who can't see fault with anyone other than the woman.

This video is from 2015 so it is certainly not relevant to what is happening now. But, listen...
What has happened in Baton Rouge this week is simply aweful. No family and no community should have to go through this.
That having been said, I have talked to a number of LEOs this week and I can tell they are in a "don't give a $hit" mood. They are overworked and stressed to the max. My advise to everyone, including myself, is to obey the law, don't speed and avoid any unnecessary contact you can with a LEO. They are in no mood for most typical petty BS.

AUSTIN -- The Austin City Council on Thursday unanimously approved a $425,000 settlement for Breaion King.

Her violent arrest by an Austin police officer in 2015 received national attention, including inspiring an Oscar-nominated documentary, and sparked reforms in the police department.

My thoughts...the cop made the decision to escalate and put her under arrest for not letting him close her car door while he runs her drivers license in his car. Am I missing something here? Why does it even matter?

Then the cop basically tells her at 8:30 in the video that black people have "violent tendencies." Whether he believes that or not, why would you say that while being recorded? He just admitted bias.

I'm all for showing police respect, which she clearly did not, but damn, $425K? I'd take that for putting up with a small scuffle with police.
