I'll join in. My son took a summer course online and basically taught himself from the textbook. Those zoom meetings were no help.
This semester half his classes are online.

She is ill informed. All dining location are open. They have taken out half of the seating but it's still available. The dining halls will also offer to go options for students not wanting to eat there and if the operations get full.

Probably equally as helpful as never going to class, which is what the vast majority of students did pre-COVID anyway.
All these parents in here acting like their child is being deprived of the in-class experience when the reality is they weren't going in the first place. Get real.

LSU buildings suck and are falling down!
LSU should take a major budget cut by reducing tuition and fees!
*Middleton proceeds to collapse*

LSU isn’t 100% online tho... Students are going to be on campus.

False. LSU charges building fees to your fee bill. That's on top of tuition. These are for students to use the buildings on campus, such as the library or the classroom they are being instructed in.

Right. I believe if your class is bigger than 100 students then it's all online. Otherwise, in person w/ masks and they split the semester up into halves to prevent more exposure between students walking to and from class as well as in major auditoriums.

Agreed. Poor teaching quality, especially some foreign faculties gave lectures in bad accent

I'd pay extra for a physics course taught entirely by Uncle Roger.

They should not be charging full price for the classes when they are going to be 100% online.
I agree with him
If we'd have known with certainty this was going to happen we'd of had our son sit out this semester rather than wasting the money.
If y’all didn’t see that coming a mile away, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yes, let's bankrupt LSU because Johnny has to take some on-line classes this semester.
Maybe LSU and all state funded entities should budget better during a shutdown.

There is still time for a 100% refund...

Honestly, past the 50 student mark it’s not like you’re a person to your professor.
Your may as well be in your dorm room.
Think about if the classes were recorded and you could watch them whenever / rewatch them?

right which is my point. building fees are a separate line item on the fee bill. it would be hard to deliniate and only charge those people that are having classes in a classroom verses those that are not. It's like assessing a fee for the rec center to everyone even though they all don't use the urec. You can't say, i don't use it so i don't think i should pay for it. It's part of the university. I believe they will be refunding parking money to those not needing to come to campus if i am not mistake,

LSU parent and grad here. We’re really getting robbed by a lot of the “content“ they’re putting out these days. It’s sad.

I felt the same when i was a student and i was paying for things i was never going to have the chance to use. I paid a UREC fee for many years to pay for the renovation. I was never going to see that thing built in my time on campus. It comes with the territory. It's a crap situation. I get it, but a lot of places are doing this on the fly. I'm sure there will be some amount of restitution paid

Throw in last semester for penalizing students for moving out early, when LSU "highly recommended" it.
