Also, it was an allegory.
We ASSUMED this based on no evidence it existed. It was never stated by Plato to be an allegory.
Plato spoke of very real historical places and events often.

What if I told you Plato stated Atlantis was destroyed 11,600 years ago?
And that matches geological records of global destruction and a mini ice age?
And that Plato’s describes the size of each inner island and those sizes match the eye of the Sahara perfectly?

There is a good video on YouTube about it, you should check it out...but yeah, that's it.

Think about it. The desert can’t melt steel beams.

I found it in the Bahamas. Way overpriced and disappointing imo..

A cataclysmic event washed most of it away (the actual evidence of the buildings and such would either be in the ocean nearby or possibly hundreds of kilometers away).
You can actually still see the remnants of a water event even on google earth.

So this thing is 30 miles wide and you can only know what you are looking at from high altitude. From the ground it looks like nothing. So how would some ancient person give such a detailed description of it

Ancient people didn’t use airplanes?

Plato supposedly heard the story from a guy in his grandpa's generation, who received all the info from Egyptians...where the info was stored in the library, which was destroyed.
Now it's possible the Egyptians found the eye of the Sahara, then crafted that explanation for why it is there...
But the swept away terrain, ancient artifacts and cave paintings in the area would leave one to lean in the direction of an ancient civilization.
The Atlas connection is my favorite link.

This "show" hasn't been canceled yet?

That doesn't explain my question. You can only tell what you are looking at from high altitude. So how would the Egyptians have described it in such detail.
From the ground it looks like nothing. Did the Egyptians have hot air camels or something?

I just went to Google Earth:
A) I feel so dumb, but I never have heard about the eye of the Sahara
B) You can click the little man icon on the bottom right, and there are some guys who drove Jeeps into the eye and took pics. In one of the pictures, it is OBVIOUSLY silt and sand and looks exactly like how water would be flowing. It's shocking to me no one ever really realized this.
