It's because it makes the existence of "advanced" civilization much older than currently believed. That opens up all kinds of questions, how far back does civilization actually go? How advanced have we gotten before and can we learn any new tricks from these old civilizations.

After seeing all 3 videos from this guy about Atlantis he makes a pretty compelling case. I've watched many shows on Atlantis over the years and they've tried to tie pretty much any underwater possibly man made structure to Atlantis. Here the evidence isn't man made structures but a natural structure that matches and then lining up other parts of the story like the location of Atlantes being in the same place on Herodotus' map and Atlantis meaning the "daughter of Atlas" and a guy named Atlas being the first king of this region. It checks a lot of boxes and has to jump through a lot fewer hoops to be true than any other site I've seen.
