re: Atlanta school ditches Pledge....

I mean honestly who really cares? Yes I said it growing up and still remember it to this day but I have not said it once since grade school. I do believe it's a slippery slope but reciting a pledge that grade schoolers have little knowledge of why they are saying it doesn't really bother me.

then the school should lose all funding from the tax payers
Why?
Georgia state law requires all public school recite the pledge

A lot of people complaining about this likely belong to Christian denominations that dont allow infant baptism....following the logic that the child should make an informed choice about something so important as religion.
Is this any different?

From US History.org
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.
In its original form it read:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1923, the words, "the Flag of the United States of America" were added. At this time it read:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy's daughter objected to this alteration.

That is fake news.
Supreme Court has ruled on this. A student can't be forced to recite the pledge in a public school.

Pull all public funding now.

The Pledge was not used in schools at all until 1892. The US got along just fine without one for over a hundred years.

I wish they would defund those schools choosing to do that. Indoctrination at it's finest.
I'm pretty indifferent on the pledge but are you saying that not having the children recite a daily loyalty pledge is indoctrination at its finest?

but adding "Under God" in the 1950s to "combat" communism wasn't indoctrination?

Schools were banned from punishing students for not reciting the pledge. The states were not banned from "requiring" the pledge be recited in schools.

I wish I could “take a knee” or just abstain from paying taxes to support the portion of American society who has no respect for our nation’s anthem, flag, and history. Seems like a fair trade to me.

Students at an Atlanta school will no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance
Students and the School Administration have no stated allegiance to the USA, it's right there in print. They have no fidelity to the USA.
