It's also not true. There are more than a few survivors. Sadly, the majority died.

The evidence does not bear this out. It is just a convenient accusation leveled by the federal government to justify their actions. There was no independent review of the evidence afterwards. The “winner” wrote history.

There's the first problem. Those weapons shouldn't have been illegal in the first place, so the warrant was bullshite to begin with.

76 civilians died, including 2 pregnant women and 25 children because you MFers wanted to break out your fancy smancy combat gear and play army, and you want to remember the agents who died doing it, but don’t want to remember you are the ones who killed those people in the process

No Branch Davidian died on February 28.

Save your anger for April.

But the ATF and FBI lost some guys.

That's what happens when you attack armed citizens.

ETA: the worst part about it is the people in charge shifted the blame from themselves to the Davidians and doubled down on the government vs. its citizens. They have been taking rights and killing citizens ever since the door of no blame and endless tax $$$ was opened.

IIRC, part of the problem was that the ATF had a budget review coming up and they wanted a big flashy case to show why they were necessary and should be funded more.

So they went in commando style to try and make a big bust when they could have secured Koresh elsewhere. And it got a ton of people on both sides killed, but they still got their funding.

Jody. Damn

Six Davidians died that day.

History Channel
quote:

On February 28, 1993, some 80 agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) raided a religious compound at Mount Carmel, near Waco, Texas, after receiving reports that the Branch Davidians and their leader, David Koresh, were violating federal firearms regulations.

After four ATF agents and six Davidians were killed in the gun battle that followed, a cease-fire was arranged, and nearly 900 law enforcement officials eventually surrounded the compound, including hostage negotiators and rescue teams from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

I don't have a problem with the ATF remembering fallen agents. But man, they could've worded that much better and remembered the others too.

shite, something like "remember everyone who died that day, especially these ATF agents" would've been better than that.

Always get a kick out of people who think the government was justified because they investigated themselves.

You can read the government's investigative report here: LINK

A rebuttal to the government's "investigation": LINK

Documentary (warning super hard to watch, but needs to be watched: Waco: Rules of Engagement

Oh yea, that ATF tweet was done purposely to make a list of people to investigate. The ATF is not stupid, just evil. Stay away from it.

correct. and even if they were, plenty of times that David agreed to meet.

Not only that, plenty of evidence that shows this was not true. The fricking FBI lied

quote:

The FBI told Attorney General Janet Reno that children were being abused at Waco, even though it wasn’t true.
Reno initially rejected the FBI’s tear gas plan as being too aggressive. A strong advocate for children, Reno was concerned the Davidians might use the children as human shields if the FBI launched an offensive. Then Reno said she heard from the FBI that the children at Waco being abused. She told ABC News’ Nightline:

We had had reports that they had been sexually abused, that babies had actually been beaten. I asked when I first heard that for them to verify it and, again, that was the report that was brought back.

It wasn’t true, and the FBI knew it. So who told her? William Sessions, the FBI director at the time, told FRONTLINE he wasn’t the one. But someone at the FBI did, according to documents FRONTLINE uncovered. It’s just not clear who.

Ultimately, Reno approved the gas plan. Agents began spraying tear gas into the compound the morning of April 19, 1993.

LINK

But even if it was true.....the solution to protecting children from molestation is to send tear gas into the facility that was known for being causing fires and had a very recent history of causing this?

Essentially the governments solution to protecting children from child molestation rumors was to kill them. IN WHAT frickING WORLD DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

I dont agree with what McVay did and think he was a phsyco for killing innocent children and other innocent people, but after ruby ridge and waco and the last 30 years of government abuse and overreach....its very easy to see why he thought the government was at war with its own people.

and frick the ATF!! Had a budget review coming and were threatened with budget cuts so they decided to play war games. How the hell is it a raid if you bring tanks?

I feel horrible for the ATF agents that died and their families. One was from Lake Charles area. They should have never been put in that position.

This is the same as all no knock warrents. They put undue risk on the teams that serve them. They put undue risk on the area population where they are served. And last but vertainly not least, in many many cases it allows the governments enforcement arm to act as judge, jury and executioner and allows them to write the history of the actions.

frick all no knock warrents and all raids!!!
