Got a text from a coacb. He said he's about to call. If text is working, I assume people can call? I'm anything but tech savvy

I always assumed that the cell towers were wired to the main fiber backbones that run throughout the country, and didn't have their own dedicated backbones. Something software related to just cell towers at main data center(s)?

My question is if it were an outage why is it only affecting some people and not everyone? We all have iPhones with eSIM in my household on ATT and half work while half doesn’t.
One would have to think there is some sort of failsafe in place that multiple networks must go down simultaneously for there to be zero communication.
To the posters saying that this isnt a cyberattack, why not? What evidence is there that this is not a cyberattack?
It is safe to assume that it is an extremely real possibility.

Because there are well known things that can take entire networks down not related to cyber attacks. One of them is a routing protocol called BGP.
As far as backups and failsafes, yea, you'd probably be pretty shocked that even in this day and age, they are in fact not always in place.

Any cause for this released yet? Last time I lost service for this long some construction worker cut into a fiber bundle around Lacassine and took down all of SW LA.

Imagine having ATT and then still keeping ATT after being let down like this many times

I bet AT&T spent all of its money on annoying ads for March Madness coming up.
