At what point do we stop saying “God Bless You” in response to sneezing?

You get it one time. That’s it. One. Maybe a Gesundheit at the point you hit 6-8. But no mad.

But seriously, my wife thinks you say it every time. At one point I sneezed 16 times and this woman said it 16 times. I told her it was unnecessary.
I don’t need to be reminded every time I sneeze. The spirits ain’t gonna get me.

Since we are on the subject, I cannot stand people who hold back and try to fight a sneeze. The little squeaks and weird arse sounds. Just let it rip, be loud, hell....even fart because you sneeze so hard if you must. But, stop with the fighting it thing!

I agree with you, OP, but just look at all the trained monkeys. They're so ingrained with it, they can't conceive of anything else. The adult mind can't let go. This response to sneezing is soooo stupid and pointless.

My wife is the same. It’s ok, but she could wait till I stopped and it would not hurt my feelings - but I don’t tell her not to say it, I get in enough trouble as it is. I sneeze a lot in allergy season.
