You would not find a 2016 F-150, which is fully loaded, for less than 45K in the fall of 2015.

Your truck isn't fully loaded, so let's compare apples to apples.

Meh, mines ok looking. But like I said, I don't care.

I think the new Tahoe's are incredibly badass looking, but I wouldn't pay for that and it wouldn't last as long.

My Ex-FIL bought a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali loaded for the wife and just bought a 2016 2500 Silverado LTZ Dually. He prlly owes over $130k in vehicles.

Everything that makes my truck expensive also has proven it's worth to me over the years. I use my 4x4 a couple times a month and the interior space of the crew cab F-150 is insane and perfect for all my road trips I take. I doubt I'd ever buy a package over a Lariat.

Chevy and GMC mark them way up so when they put their "15-20% off" sale on them it looks too good to pass up.

It works.

I'll be in the market in a couple of years, if I end up going the ford route I probably wouldn't go over lariat package. That said, prices are absolutely ridiculous.

They are stupid expensive, but to be fair, the Gov puts some pretty hefty regs on gas mileage and safety. That research and development cost. Also, the required dealer model is outdated. They could sell direct to the public and save the consumer some money, but croney capitalism has stopped that over and over.

Lariats/Platinums/King Ranches are all essentially the same now - just different trim. You can mix and match the packages however you want making the price differences between the three almost negligible. Some of the most expensive F150s on the market right now a Lariats.

Yes

It's just the trim.

I understand that. The trim is what dictates the price

No, the various packages, engine, and drive train affect the price way more.

Go look at the most expensive used F150 on cars.com. It's an XLT.

It just so happens that certain trims usually come with the more expensive combinations of various packages.

buying used right now really doesn't make much since.

3yrs ago I sold my 2011 Tundra Platinum after driving it for 2.5yrs and 29.5k miles for 5k less than I paid for it.

That was to a dealer who turned around and sold if for an additional $1500. I'm sure the dude that bought it thought he got a great deal.

Yep. The used car market has become a total sham. My advice to others is find a dealership that honors the KBB instant cash trade in value and look for the earliest year new vehicle on the model you want at the end of summer. You'll walk out with a great deal.

Always try to buy what's on the lot. If you custom order a vehicle, unless you really have to, you're screwing yourself.

Baby bed

the bed on my crew cab is so small especially with my toolbox. If I have anything moderately sized I have to pull a trailer. BUT, I can throw muddy gear, beer cans, tools, dogs etc and not have to worry about ever cleaning it.
