then they should change PcPs. I would. They’re not under contract.

A lot of people have been with their doctors for decades and have complete trust in them

told her that we would not see her (and her grandkids wouldn't either)

Shouldn't it be her decision? Don't you think she'd rather die if that meant seeing her children and grandchildren rather than being isolated from all those that she loves?

Sounds awfully selfish of you and harsh on your mama, of you ask me.

I don’t want this to happen to your family, even if you don’t think it ever could. I didn’t think it could to him, either, and even if he got sick, I trusted he’d get the best care as a physician,

No one thinks it's going to happen to them, until it does. That's why it's better to be vaccinated so you give yourself a better chance of survival.

VAERS is the CDC moron

What's is the point of VAERS if it can't or won't be trusted by the very organization that hosts it. The CDC should shut it down if they don't trust their own metrics.

Where did I say that? I don't want anyone to get sick and I want this all to be over. The quicker people stop believing stupid conspiracies and vax up the sooner we'll be done with it all.

So many variables in natural response such as immune status, severity of illness, viral load of exposure and on and on

And the potential downstream/long term effects or damage from the virus. shite, people get chicken pox as kids and the virus can pop up and cause shingles in your 50s. We don't know how or where this thing could pop up for people who survive it.

And before someone chimes in with "but the long term effects of the vaccine aren't known" I guess I'd just ask if you'd be more willing to take your chances with this virus we never knew about 2 years ago, or a vaccine which has been developed by the best pharma companies in the world and rigorously vetted through trials. I already made my choice.

so everyone unvaccinated believes in stupid conspiracies? what about children under 12? what about those with medical conditions who were told by their PcP not to get vaccinated? what about those who got the 1st dose, had a reaction, and was told not to get the 2nd dose? what about illegal immigrants? what about those who caught COVID in the last year and have natural immunity?

all tin foil hat wearing lunatics ehh?

do you honestly believe if everyone in the US was vaccinated tomorrow, COVID would not longer be a problem?

Father, We don't know this man's name, but we know that you do. We understand how serious his sickness is and the worry his son and family have for his declining condition. We know you are the great physician and that all good things come from you. We pray you will give this man strength and healing. We ask that you improve his blood oxygen so that he can breath and receive the oxygen he needs to survive. We pray for peace for him and his family. We ask for a healing touch from you and give you all credit and praise for what you will do to bring about healing. Thank you for what you will do for this man. In your Son's name we pray.

Amen

This is so ridiculous it's hard to formulate a response.

When given the choice between seeing her kids/grandkids and dying vs not seeing them for a few months until she and all of us were vaccinated, she would (and did) choose the latter.

ETA: And it was her choice...I couldn't force her to get vaccinated, but it was also our choice to not see her for fear of potentially infecting her.

and its not even a fricking vaccine since you love technicalities.

Could the same source that taught you that convince you that 1+1=3 with a simple post or video as well?

I love how so many people who couldn't define "vaccine" nor explain in moderate detail how one works prior to Jan 1 2020 now feel comfortable making pedantic arguments with the subject matter experts. While in a post trying to be pedantic you use its for it's when "it" isn't even accurate it is "they" given there are three approved vaccines in the US and 1 is a viral vector vaccine.

You couldn't just be wrong you have to be wrong and imprecise which is horrible form when being pedantic.

To the OP, my thoughts are with your father. I hope he pulls through and sees you follow in his footsteps.
