it is the only city on the planet where people drink on tuesdays. it is also home to the strongest people on the planet because they are the only folks to ever get hit with a serious hurricane.

I think Matthew McConaughey captured New Orleans pretty well in this speech:

Music, architecture, history, outdoors, scenery

But the people. Yes, we have some gangbangers and fast food workers who hate life. But they are a small minority of the city. Most people here are just down to earth, hard working, good folks, who will help you for any reason with nothing expected in return.

We still have class and manners and charm here, something missing from most "better" cities.

It’s on the list of weekend vacation places but YouTube only mentions food drinks and swamp tours.

Excellent music and art scene, unique shops, festivals almost every weekend, pro football and basketball, great parks

And it'll never be sprayed all over Canal Street because I refuse to go to that city.

There is a ton to do in New Orleans for a weekend but don’t come unless you are into food and drinks because that is arguably the best offering.

I don't really care because that's their problem.

New Orleans has more historical markers than any other city in the country. Look it up and don’t be a dumbass. The Japanese Cherry Blossom trees in front of the White House are from New Orleans.

In the summer time?

Nothing makes it a trip worth making.

I tend to agree unless it involves sitting around a pool with drinks.

I was hosting an out of state friend last weekend and brought him out to the City Park sculpture garden that has now doubled in size. There were tour buses and limo buses all over the place with plenty of foreigners on them.
It's just a much better place October through April with so many festivals and events, etc.
