Kid sounds like a pervert ! Most likely young kids on the slip and slide at the birthday party this perv was watching . How old were the kids at the birthday party? Sounds like this freak will be registered sex offender soon.

if he shot it with a shotgun, it was way lower than 200'. Squirrel shot would not be effective at that range.

There is all kinds of wrong or outright bullshite in that article.
No quad can stay in the air for an hour. I seriously doubt this dude was 20 feet above her.

and according to this you can easily hit a 200 foot quadcopter at 200 feet.
Also 200 feet and you like like an small bug on a photo.
This doesn't say that the quadcopter owner wasn't asking for an angry neighbor.

well the one thing that can be corroborated is whether the sheriff was indeed called and if he asked the flyer to stop flying it over their neighbor's property and he didn't.
i'm sure the shooter was like "the damn thing was hovering over the slip & slide for an hour" but didnt exactly time it with a watch.
same with '20 feet over her head'
so you're splitting hairs here.
obviously it was flying close enough that he could take it out with a shotgun.

Drone wouldn't be able to operate for a straight hour overhead. Consumer models in the $1200 range will be around the 20 minute flight time mark.
Probably a lot lower than 200 feet in the air when he knocked it out of with a shotgun.
Guy who was flying his drone over private property after he was told not to though, deserves to be beat in the head with a baseball bat to see if it will stick in his head for next time.
