Yep. It's a phenomenon. People see them and automatically think you are filming them. I have a Hubsan mini quad that doesn't take pictures and had some idiot redneck yell and threaten me not to take pictures of him. He had an infowars bumper sticker fwiw.

I went to Middle school with his host family's son, Webb. Odd kid. He was, and seems to be still, a smart fricker. But that was stupid arse shite that night.

Anyhoo. Sad story.Epitome of Comparative negligence(70/30 Redneck/Yoshi & Webb).

I'll never forget that. This time of year especially. It reminds me how being dumb and quick to whip out a gun can ruin your life.

There's certainly some exaggeration involved...
If "something" (we didn't know what it was... Are you kidding me?) was hovering 20' above my kid's slip & slide party for an hour, that's the day my anti-aircraft activities would have started. At a minimum, I would have found out if drones are waterproof, because it would have been sprayed with the hose. I might have thrown a few things at it too. I doubt I would have started shooting, but I guess that would have depended on how much I'd been drinking.
