Arrest made in 2013 attack on jogger by LSU Lakes

Here is a LINK to the 2013 thread since TD won’t let me bump it. Interesting to see the posters that said it wouldn’t be solved, that the police wouldn’t follow through, etc. Looks like they finally got the guy through a DNA match. TBH, I even thought the lady’s story sounded strange back then but looks like I was wrong.

Baton Rouge police arrested a Brusly man after DNA evidence linked him to a 2013 attack on a jogger on East Lakeshore Drive, according to police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. Coppola said Akeem Yarbough, 26, grabbed a female jogger from behind in a strangle hold until she briefly lost consciousness around 6 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2013. The woman, 30, was listening to music with her headphones while running in the 2500 block of East Lakeshore Drive. When the woman woke up, the man now identified as Yarbough was on top of her and punching her in the stomach and upper torso, Coppola said. The woman started screaming and the man jumped up and ran away. She did not require medical treatment after the attack, Coppola said.
Police arrested Yarbrough Monday after DNA evidence from the woman's clothes was linked to him. He was already in custody on unrelated charges, possibly in Pointe Coupee Parish, Coppola said. Investigators believe the attack was random.

Y’all really see the world in black and white.
Nurse didn’t do any victim blaming. She never said that because if the victim’s actions, she was asking to be assaulted.
I always think of it like this:
Say you have a friend on bourbon street that is flashing thousands of dollars on the street. Would you not tell your friend, “Dude, put that shite away”? If your friend gets mugged it’s not his fault per-say, but telling him to put away all the cash when in public is just good advice.
Nurse was just saying ole girl should have been aware of what had been happening around those lakes and could have taken better precautions. Nurse never said she got what she deserved.
I have a daughter that will be going to college in a few years and if I, as a father, didn’t tell her that she should stay out of sketchy situations at parties then I would be a shitty father.
Good advice isn’t “victim blaming”. Everybody loves to throw that term around.

I’m pretty sure I called that girl a lying cheating slut in that thread.

Thank you. “Victim Blaming” is a real thing but it has gone the way of other similar terms that no longer mean anything.
“Victim Blaming” is thrown at people offering common sense suggestions.
“Racists” are people that never actively discriminate against others in real world situations, but if they think certain aspects of the black American culture is toxic to aspirations of young black American’s then they are racist. “ Wear well fit clothing for your interview” becomes the words of a racist.
Believing that transgender issues aren’t the most important, all encompassing, problem that the media has built it up to be because it addresses issues that maybe .03% of the population may deal with suddenly becomes the talk of a bigot.
Let’s pump the brakes a bit and use the words that means something for serious examples.

2013 - Statues are up and thus tragedy happens.
2017 - Statues are down and this did not happen again.
Coincidence?
Nope.
