I have to believe there is more to this. I don’t see where the guy up and decides to randomly go attack a lady, fail at it and then never does it again.
And the bigger question, how does someone reach the point where they decide to do this the first time?

It seems like her first statement was of amazement because nurse probably wouldn’t do that.
Nurse never said “well when you jog at night with headphone on you get what’s coming to you”.
THAT would be victim blaming.

When setting up to take train photos in the shittiest part of downtown Shreveport, I used to see a young good looking blonde jogger jog right through the area.
It was early morning daylight but I always wondered why (she apparently lived downtown at the United Jewelers apartments). One day she stopped to pet my border collie (not a euphemism). Up close, I saw that she was packing.
I sometimes see h.s. age looking girls jogging down country roads. No way I would let a daughter jog down a somewhat isolated country road.

Let me break it down into simpler parts and answer it for you.
Why was she jogging? For exercise, you know, people do that to stay in shape
Why was she wearing headphones? Bc jogging kind of sucks if you don’t have any good music.
Why would she jog at dark? Because most working Americans are behind their desk from 8-5. When it starts to get dark earlier you have limited daylight options.
I hope that this cleared things up for you.
