Steroids, if abused incorrectly, will trash the body. It's one of the major reasons (among many others) that so many pro wrestlers die do young.

I am curious how this correlates to Dr prescribed TRT.

Does it shorten or lengthen life expectancy when not done in excess?

Personally? I don't know about that but is that really the bar we have to meet now in order to opine about a public figure who was also in government at one point?
He was a huge tool about covid and stands by it to this day. He would have gladly had you or I locked up and certainly put out of work for not taking your vax or wearing your mask. I could go on but you probably know the rest.

yall are so dumb...arnold moves better than 90% of guys pushing 80 because he did lift weights

now he is a dumbass freedom hating frick tard but dont blame lifting.....its called getting old dumbasses

as far as ronnie goes....he didnt hurt himself from the lifting either...he popped pain pills, trained through pain then had multiple botched surgeries and also started lifting again heavy despite the doctor and PT telling him to wait.

all the short fat fricks of South louisiana love to blame lifitng weights when they see things like this cause it makes them feel better about being short and fat......most of them wont even come close to living to the same age as arnold.

This is only partially true. He hurt himself lifting, and he's said as much. He blew a disc, didn't get it fixed, and continued to train heavy. So, the lifting caused it, and him being stupid exacerbated it.

That's where lifting can really impact future wellbeing. People who push through pain and refuse to rehab/recover wind up that way.

agree 100% and its why so many wrestlers as mentioned are like that. they pop pain pills like its skittles.

Maybe I missed the mark in focusing on knees/back but hips would impact walking.

quote:

Seventy percent (73/104) of participants were currently injured, and 87% (83/95) had experienced an injury within the past 12 months. The lumbopelvic region, shoulder, and hip were the most commonly injured areas for both sexes. Women experienced a significantly greater frequency of injuries in the neck and thoracic region than men. Injuries seemed to occur during training, although only 16% (11/70) of those currently injured had to completely refrain from training. Training frequency, greater personal best in the dead lift, injury onset during bench-press and dead-lift training, use of straps, alcohol consumption, and dietary issues were associated with current injuries.

I workout 5 days a week and this is a concern for later in life.

I never once blamed the weight lifting. I was saying that Arnold walking was fine, some guys like Ronnie can’t walk without crutches, which is a fact. How that happened, that’s regardless. But steroids abuse and heavy lifting can affect your older years, many have died at an early age. I think Arnold had the perfect amount of juice to heavy lifting ratio where he didn’t cripple himself nor make his liver 3x the size of a normal man, like old Rich Piana.

I kept looking for him too but didn’t recognize him. He gets around good for his age and I’m 68 so I know how that is. It’s crazy to see these people who were in their prime all of a sudden become what we consider old people.

Seems like it happens overnight, me included. Those who condemn him or others all I can tell you is keep on living, you’re next.

Clint is 94 so I ain’t mad at him, at least he’s not dead… but it only seems like 5 yrs ago he looked like a fairly robust older fella .

I’m disappointed that you’re too stupid to realize an 80 year old man has an old man walk……….
