People have gotten robbed at gunpoint leaving Radio Bar multiple times in the past few years.

Which raises the bar for what Radio Bar is required to do to protect themselves from lawsuits. Have they added lights and armed security? If they know there is a problem with armed robbery in their parking lot and do nothing to protect their clientele from it, when they get sued they are fooked.

Thats why I always scoff at the, "just give them the money and leave well enough alone" advice. Im not giving them the chance to pop me in the back.

Every robbery is different. I had two guys with guns on me and so if I had been armed it wouldve been difficult to take them both out. If someone gets the drop on you you have to be quick as shite to use a gun defensively. I'd almost rather have a knife. I tossed my wallet and when one of them ran to scoop it up I ran and luckly their shots missed. But you are right. Fight back or run like hell but dont just stand there waiting for them to decide your fate.

No loss.

Has anyone been to the Radio Bar? How is it?

It's a really chill bar with a pretty good beer selection and great cocktails. It's the kinda place where you can hang out, relax, and have a conversation but still listen to some good music at a reasonable level. You do see some weird artsy hipster types there, but they're harmless. It's really great when they do their free food Sundays. I always see lots of people I know there.

Radio Bar is one of those places you decide to go because it's different and you want a change of scenery - then you get there and you're bored out of your mind and end up leaving.

At least that's my experience.

I'm always the person forcing the group to go, and every single time I promise I won't do it to them again I used to have some friends that go every day, though. They seem to mostly have the same people in the place every night.

It's not the Varsity or Spanish Moon. There's no band to focus your attention on.

It's not Fred's or Bogies. There's no DJ and dance floor to grind on chicks to.

There's no karaoke to embarrass one's self to.

Your experience at Radio Bar is basically entirely up to the group you're with. The drinks are good, the music's solid, but it's not live music. There's no pool tables. There is no other activity other than listening to the "jukebox" and socializing with friends. If you have fun friends, it's fun. If you have boring friends, it's boring. Just that simple.

This is my experience with Radio Bar. It’s a great low key place to have some drinks & talk to your friends. Laid back, but always super fun because of the people I was with. And the best French 75s I’ve ever had.

They make a mean Sazerac. Seeing as I haven't been able to afford a Sazerac in 3 years, I don't go there very often anymore

Once I can afford Sazeracs, I will return!

I wish our justice system was as swift and punitive.

When you violate the private property rights of others, when you threaten their lives with force to steal what is rightfully theirs, you forfeit any regard for your own life. Reciprocity is a motherf&%ker.

My problem with the music is that it is usually a level where I can't even hear it. For a bar that started as a free jukebox and has "radio" in the name, it annoys me that you can't hear the music. I listen to a lot of that hipster shite, so I want to hear it damnit!

I pretty much exclusively go to Bulldog or Olive (with Varsity and Spanish Moon randomly thrown in once a week or so), so I'm used to bars where you basically just chill with friends. I just find Radio so much more boring than those two. Granted, I also rarely know anyone very well at Radio whereas I know plenty of people at the other two mentioned.

They didn't kill him. He died later at the hospital. Can we be sure some malpractice didn't occur?

Just kidding. Everybody involved gets a pass except the criminal.
