Are you good with going in a restuarant right before it’s scheduled to close?

I just can’t do it…I know a dude who will waltz into an Olive Garden, (for example), with his family of 5, at 9:50 knowing they close at 10:00…he tried that shite at our local Mexican restuarant and they refused to serve him. Isn’t there some kind of unwritten rule for this? If not, there should be…

At a sit down place, we have a one hour rule.

Give them the special sauce

In that example the manager just needs to say the kitchen closes at 9:30, the dining room closes at10:00. Easy.

I don’t like having my food served with spit, so no.

If I'm looking for food that late it's gonna be either fast food or waffle house

Never anger the cook. Who knows what he might do to your food.

It’s rude to sit down to go is perfectly fine

Never within 15 mins or so of closing. Grew up working in restaurants, it’s just common courtesy.

Unless you're tight with the manager or the staff, no. You're asking for your food to messed with in a bad way.

It wasnt yet ten o'clock when I walked in here

There was black pastor in Ascension that had billboards everywhere that used to roll into that (not Houstons) place in front of the mall AFTER closing many nights, then raise hell that we were racist until we would seat him.
That guy was a steaming pile of shite. He’d come in with much younger women he was clearly sleeping with and try to alpha dog everyone.

Your first thread on the same topic got moved to the f&d board. This thread will be the same or just whacked all together

In my experiences, people’s food was never messed with in any kind of unsanitary way. But it was half assed made for sure.

At corporate places, 10 o'clock is 10 o'clock. At other places, 10 o'clock is when your arse needs to be paying up and gettin' gone, not time to walk in.

Nope. First you’ll get bad service. Secondly, I don’t want to force workers to stay over

Most places won’t take new orders 30 min or less before closing time

If you've ever worked in a restaurant, or if your friend ever thought in that sense, he would NOT do it. It's an unspoken rule that it delays what most of them want to do, especially the kitchen--to go home!
The people who do who tip extra, I think that's also more tolerable.
