Are you unhappy that you will have fewer unsuspecting children coming to your door?

GEN X may go down as the worst generation of parents of all time. They did a complete 180 and ruined their kids

The main point is to keep kids safely out of the streets so they are less likely to get run over by a car. We had this happen in my neighborhood a couple of years ago.
Secondarily, it is more likely to be held at a church, etc. where you are likely to know the folks who are giving your kids candy.

My sister is a doctor and her “trunk” at the hospital trunk or treat is always awesome

Trunk or Treat is for people that love their children, believe in safety first, and respect their neighbors.

Where I live, all the trunk or treats are this weekend. Maybe people don't go out on Halloween because they already did it, but it's not because they are doing trunk or treats Halloween night.

Trunk or treat is a sign of a collapsed society
Decent people are forced to hide when the bad neighborhood kids come around demanding candy and when they want their own kids to have candy they have to go hide and have trunk or treat

If it replaces actual trick r treating, then yes.

You raising soft kids. Your father would be disappointed in you

We do this with our church and our kid's school. Why are you so judgmental when you, of all people, shouldn't be judging others?
I'm not YUCKING someone else's YUM.
Truly asking out of ignorance.

Or lazy patenting.

Umm I have, with my twin boys.
Control your kids?

Aside from that name, this practice is nothing new.
I have seen many churches hold such events for many decades.
They wanted to provide a safer experience and also control how the event was presented to children for theological purposes.
Seems very reasonable to me.
Why do people have such a problem with this exercise of free association?

There is a lot of nostalgia in remembering dressing up, meeting friends on bike or foot, and going door to door in a decent neighborhood as a kid in the early 90s.
I agree it takes all the shine off the original concept.
Plus kids and parents these days could use the exercise. Even a lot of the ones who go door-to-door now are riding in tricked out golf carts that the parents just want to parade around.

It helps to keep children away from the likes of you.

How are you going to explain these judgmental sins when it’s time to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?
