I agree with this. I am white, and I will never know what it feels like to be black in America, and I do not discount the fact that it is more difficult culturally to navigate certain aspects of our society as a minority than it is as a white person. That is a problem that should be taken more seriously than it is oftentimes I think.
BUT it doesn't help anyone to blame this nebulous evil, irrational "racist white America" for the problem. The overwhelming majority of white people do not set out to be racist or ignorant, although too many times they unintentionally are and I don't discount that.
Just to play devil's advocate, two questions for you: 1. Do minorities and especially blacks commit crimes at a much higher rate than whites? The statistics suggest, they do. Now there are probably a lot of really good historical and cultural reasons (as opposed to racial reasons) why this is true, but if it IS true, then 2. Wouldn't whites who harbor a certain attitude towards minorities be acting not out of irrational hate, but out of rational fear?
Anyway just my opinion. I enjoyed your perspective in this thread.

Look, anyone who suggests to you that things are getting worse for minorities in this country are completely stupid. There is no nation in the world that has done MORE in the last 50 years to improve the lives of minorities at the direct cost of the majority.

Last time I checked, Obama is still the president, so nothing has happened yet if ever. We are a nation of laws and nobody but violators of those laws will have to worry.

You know why police profile, right? Black people commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime for their percentage of the total population. This is why profiling happens. anyone who refuses to assimilate is destined to futility and frustration...Muslims really do not belong in our society...Those that become part of america have no trouble making friends etc..Society doesnt bend to an individual, much less a pagan creed. fit in or GTFO or you can be deported after being hunted down like a dog

OK buddy, I've read what you've said and have let it pretty much slide because I am not black and I do have some empathy for your heritage. Your heritage, not you, unless you are over 65. I'm going to go ahead and call you a liar. You can not give me a factual instance in your life where you were refused service by a white man or company because you are a black man. You're lying.

I hope things will change for the better. I know myself and some of my fellow POW's (people of white) have been discriminated and persecuted for so long hopefully we will finally get some equality

Yeah, it's the same old shite now when these debates start. The likelihood of a white person just flat out refusing to serve a black person is slim and none. Now, if you tell me some Asian owned corner story refused to serve black people I'd believe it. The one in my neighborhood is racist as frick.

We as a country need to calm the fears of the citizens who are freaking out. They are being told a lot of lies that simply are NEVER going to happen. I can't make people stop watching MSNBC or CNN but it's really out of hand what is being said on these channels. I tuned in to MSNBC for about 30 minutes yesterday and during that time frame I watched Rachel Maddow strong insinuate to the viewers that Trump is going to take away birth control. She had a female guest on to tell the viewers that prescriptions for birth control were spiking out of fear of what Trump is going to do to women.
A friend of mine said a black kid told her Trump was sending all the black people back to Africa.
The media is making people believe shite like this and it's absurd. We need to calmly be able to talk people off the ledge and make them understand it's all bullshite scare tactics.
