Are there still people here who think marijuana should be illegal?

If so, what are your reasons?
As someone who doesn't smoke pot, I personally have little to gain from the potential decriminalization of marijuana use. I still would like to know how we benefit as a society from its illegality.

Slow drivers in the fast lane are already enough of a problem. Don't need any more.

There's no logical reason for prohibition, but I can give you some nonsense ones if you want.

Have you been to a church? All of them. Roy Moore got 600k votes recently in AL.

If there is a big group of people that follow Scientology, and believe the earth is flat, then there will be people that still oppose legalization.

I feel that it should be decriminalized entirely, and at a minimum moved to a much lower schedule if Congress isn't willing to decriminalize federally. I guess that would throw a real monkey wrench into the prison/alcohol/big pharma lobbies though. Congress definitely doesn't want that gravy train to end.

My cousin's step mother's brother has a friend that knows someone that OD'd on the weed, so yeah, it's a big problem.

Why should it be legal?
People like to use it.
There are no legitimate reasons it should be illegal.

Tobacco lobby groups put so much money into trying to keep it illegal because they haven't figured out a way to profit from it.

There are, and they're dumb.

Most backwoods white trash kids smoke weed
I’d say it is mostly older conservatives or super religious younger people
I honestly do not know anyone that still believes it should be illegal, even my very conservative, religious parents recently conceded that it should be legal
