I’ve heard some of the small town offices are less crowded/faster than others but don’t know which ones.

The express one on Siegen and Perkins is pretty good for being a DMV.

30-40 min maybe. I went to the one on seigen/Perkins several months back at 1:30 on a Wednesday and waited 2.5 hours.

This is the only one I've gone to for at least 20 years. Anyone who goes to the actual DMV off Goodwood is just a masochist.

Well I wonder why you had to wait.

Go at 8am.

The one in Denham was less busy....

The trick, though, to go to the main DMV is to go right before they close. (and this did work the other day with my daughter going with my wife for her learner's permit) If you get in the door before they close they have to serve you and they are quite motivated to move you in and out. They were out of there in record time.

Or has to have something done which the DMV Express won't handle.

I can tell you the main difference between a DMV that sucks and one that is more efficient. Primarily lies with the employees.

I don't want to get banned though.

depends on what you need to do. Renewing a license, changing address, registration, title transfer, specialty plates, etc? Go to an Express OMV. They have one on Perkins and one on E. Airport (b/t Goodwood and Independence). They are a third party agent so it may be a few bucks more. But I've been to the one on E. Airport and it never takes more than a few minutes. You may want to call, bc I think they only take cash... but I may be wrong about that.

Depends on what services you need but there is a great notary and title service in the Dutchtown Pharmacy building on 73 and 74

Fast and very customer oriented

Instead of going 4 minutes down the road to Baker (from Zachary) I go to either Clinton or St. Francisville which are both 20 minute drives. Well worth it. Wait time is usually 0.

I posted this week about my "ole lady" having to go in for a new driver's license Tuesday.

It took 7 freaking hours, the people who run this should all be fired.

My last two visits there lasted about a total of 5 minutes to take care of business, and yes, "for being a DMV", it is a well oiled machine.
