Definitely a damn nature you scary type of death.
They murder and eat other wasps in the same ripping-their-heads-off fashion too. I try to leave daubers and paper wasps alone if I run into them around the house. Both are excellent hunters of things you don't want around and both aren't aggressive towards humans if you just leave their nests alone.
Yellowjackets and red wasps can get fricked and go extinct for all I care.

Seems that way. A few weeks ago I opened up a smoker i hardly use. Got attacked. Wife counted at least 12 stings. Thank goodness im not allergic

I live right outside baton rouge, but I haven't really thought about it until seeing this thread, but at my house I don't think I have seen a wasp nest or wasp anywhere, which is not that common, there are a few areas where a nest will pop up. My house was sprayed about a month ago so that might have something to do with it..

When I was a kid one summer. I opened the sliding glass back door to step out and a dirt dauber flew right up to my face carrying a fat, shiny black widow in its legs. I fell down jumping back through that door and closed it with my foot.
Had nightmares about daubers carrying assault spiders the rest of the summer.

Try it. Use real Dawn and mix it in warm warm, shake the container well then lit it settle for a bit.
Surprised someone hasn't put this stuff in and aerosol can to sell as ready to go.

If there’s a fairly low nest, I’ll squirt some Dawn in the bottom of a SOLO cup, fill it about 3/4 full with water, then throw that on the nest. They fall instantly and aren’t going anywhere.

I was just telling my wife yesterday how I feel like there have been more wasps this year than normal. I've had to kill several nests around the outside of the house so far this summer. A new one pops up every week.

I’ve seen fewer wasps this year around my house in Shreveport. I was very vigilant this spring about dusting their usual nesting spots.

Paper wasps are not aggressive and they keep down garden pests. I am around our paper wasps all the time and they do not give a shite. The red wasps also don't like it when you have paper wasps.
My downstairs a.c. unit is in a closet on the front porch. Nice sizes paper wasp nest above it. I opened the door, put in a new filter and got no reaction.

This is a fact
Insects don't breathe the way we do through a mouth, nose and trachea
They breathe through microscopic pores in their skin so..
It you can coat their body in a substance that isn't gas permeable they will suffocate.
The soapy water solution does that
No different than taping our mouth and nose with duct tape
Stop using Parkinson's causing and expensive insecticide sprays and just use soapy water
It really works
