The thing is.. now I actually use Prime Video so I don’t really want to cancel it.
Not to mention they just spent $8.5 billion to acquire MGM so a bunch of new content is imminent in the near future, if not already

OP, delete your shipping address and recreate it. Twice in the last few years, everything I would order would say it would show 4 to 5 days. If my neighbor tried to order the same item, it would show two days.
Deleting and recreating default address cured that issue.
Beyond that, Amazon claims two day shipping. They do not promise you will get it in two days from the order entry.

Depends on the item for me. Small items usually come next day, while larger items arrive in 4-7 days.

I ordered a package at 2:30 and it'll be here by 7. I'm not sure where you live, but maybe move?

It is not just you. I dropped it earlier this year partly due to shipping times. Then combine that with it costing 50% more than when I signed up and I couldn't justify it.
Other places usually offer free shipping for orders over 50 bucks. For example BH Photo, where you don't have to worry about 3rd party sellers and knockoffs.

I started a thread about this a while back. It's definitely frustrating. Takes a week or a little more now for 'prime' delivery. Customers are getting screwed

In Jeff Parish and get most of my normal stuff in 1-2 days. Obscure shite like the soil probe understandably takes about a week.
I’m more concerned with the free shipping & prime tv than getting it in 1-2 days.

Yes your experience is not isolated.
I don't mind paying for Prime to get Prime shipping.
Back when it started it was 2 days, period, from the day you ordered it. Order early Wednesday, receive by end of business Friday at the latest.
Now there is a 2-4 day processing period and then 2 day shipping. I've had Prime items take one full week to arrive.
Yes this is all first world problems but if you can't deliver on the service then don't list the item as "Prime".
I've complained and was very disappointed in the responses. So much so my last $500 item I ordered was in stock with 2 day shipping at Walmart and I ordered it there and got it on time. I loathe Walmart but Amazon needs some competition and they need to deliver on a service they charge an annual fee for.

Some things have been popping up as next day delivery for me, but it is usually either next day delivery or 3 days or more. Rarely do I see the two day option. Now, they do ship things at 2 day speeds, they just wait a few days before the ship it...

Actually, I was hoping to learn whether or not Amazon has any plans of returning to the promise of pre-Covid Prime. It was a great convenience, and the OT is a fount of knowledge.
I wish they would bring back Next Day prime delivery for 1.99 or more with prime depending on the item. I used it a ton for some items that would be outrageously expensive to get shipped overnight from some other vendors. Sometimes the shipping would cost more than the item. But if Amazon had it, I would order it from Amazon to get in overnight for less.
I guess once we get our Amazon Wharehouse in BTR, some items should ship faster to LA if it is stored at the warehouse in BTR or Laffy. And as Amazon works on its delivery network, I guess same-day delivery could also be on the horizon for BTR, except if you live on the west side of the river where you are lucky if Prime 2 day is still an option.

In agreement that it depends on where you live, but also it depends on which Amazon warehouses have it. Or if the vendor isn't Amazon, where the vendor is.
When shipments come through the USPost Office, they aren't going to do any better for Amazon than they do for you and me. And they so don't care.
