Watches show nothing about class any more and you are a tool if you judge people by their watch. In a whole office full of engineers, myself and one other guy are the only ones that even own watches in the entire place. It's one of those things that's just dying.

White men 60 and older can get away with wearing a gold watch.

Hate gold watches, it's so 70's, but right up there with oversized bejeweled - white Casio watches

Gold watches are perfectly fine if they aren't on a bracelet. No man should wear a gold bracelet.

White dials usually look better on brown straps, but anything darker or busy looks better on black. I'd stay away from matching gold on the dial.

Is your job captain of a sailboat? You really think pimping your dive watch as a dress watch to your "6 figure a year" job makes you classy? That's like wearing boat shoes with a suit and thinking that because it's made of brown leather, it's the same as dress shoes.

I'm not trying to knock people who wear dive watches as dress watches too hard since it does happen and it doesn't really bother me that much at all (I personally would wear a dressier watch as soon as dress shoes get worn). But having an expensive watch surely does not equate to one having class.

Not for me...I've always been a stainless guy.

Same. I own a stainless Sub and a stainless & gold Yachtmaster- the Sub is my daily wearer and I wear the Yachtmaster maybe two or three times a year. To me the stainless and gold is too blingy.

No, but platinum watches are- only with diamonds and flatbill cap and a wife beater.

Don't forget to brag about your house on the jersey shore.

FIFY.

I wish money equated class. Sadly it does not.

Right now a fit bit charge HR to keep my self moving and as active as possible but I also have a very nice Casio Protek exactly like the one pictured and a vintage WW2 model Submariner my dad left me when he died. He was a WW2 carrier pilot and bought it at a Navy exchange in San Diego.

It looks fine if you're of Italian, Greek, or some sort of Middle Eastern lineage.

I think they look like something your wife bought you at a strip mall jewelry store...but hey that's about as far into watches as 95% of men are. Funny thing is that they're like women with SUVs, as long as it's as expensive as what my friends have I'll drive/wear it.

My campain is against mindlessness.

I mean I think it's dumb to not wear something just because everyone else does. A submariner is the most cliché expensive watch out there. But I still eventually want one. They do look good.

But I do agree on bracelets and straps. Leather looks better on dress watches. And it's not even close for me. Even on the submariner I hope to get eventually, I plan on putting a rubber strap since it would mostly be worn when I'm being all "outdoorsy" . I just don't love the look of a bracelet.

Yeah bro, I'm wearing a gold bracelet just like my grandpa, while you're accessorizing your watches daily to match your outfit.

My mom is 62 and this exact one, but her dial is darker blue. I don't think a full gold would look good on a woman

My useless waste of flesh of a bitch mother has pretty much that exact same watch, but with a gold colored face instead of blue. It is her pride and joy. She thinks its the greatest thing she's ever owned. She is 72 and when she dies It will be sold to buy a large amount of high grade which will all be smoked by me and a few others while sitting on her grave.

Before the downvotes flow in, she basically killed my father by divorcing him because she was too lazy to take care of him when he got in bad health so he grieved himself to death, and then after remarrying she stole mine and my brothers inheritance because my dad was still in love with her and kept trying to get her back so he never took her name off shite. CSB I know, but wanted to clarify why I refer to my mother as a fricking waste of life count
