I tried dsc club's cheap option initially, and I wasn't impressed. Then, I decided to give them one last chance and placed an order for their middle of the road option with four blades. I have been really happy with them and have been using them for the past 7 months.

I buy the four blade option that dollar shave club offers, but get them direct from dorco USA.

They regularly run specials that if you buy 50 bucks or so you get 40% off. I find them to be on par with mach 3 razors at 1/4th the cost

they are getting harder to find at a decent price.

I buy them in bulk off ebay like twice a year. Saves a ton of money. I tried dollar shave club but their razors are terrible.

Proof is in the results.

Went without it for about a year, shaving only in the shower. The results were more frequent razor burn and cuts as well as a generally rougher shave than with it.

I dont use shaving cream

I ran out of shaving cream one night and tried using a little of the wife's hair conditioner. Worked like a charm and it's all I've used ever since. Do you use something in place of the shaving cream, or just nothing at all?

I used a safety razor for a couple months and hated it. I bought a kit online with the brush and soap and everything and watched tons of youtube tutorials but still always butchered by face anytime I tried to go across or against the grain

I know that the cartridges are more expensive but they leave my face less irritated and cut up.

Don't push down. Let the razor blade do the work. I have a heavy handle and just let the weight of the razor apply pressure. Two passes, and I'm good. I have a grown-up beard, too. I can shave in the morning and have a good shadow by bedtime.

I've been using Harry's for a few months. If you order the $15 "one month kit", you get $5 off with promo code "deal" on your first order. That kit comes with handle, 3 4-blade cartridges, and choice of cream/gel. Can't beat it for a $10 trial run.

I'm very pleased. Ordered a set of 8 replacement blades about a month ago; still on the first tube of cream, which I also like. Didn't sign up for the automatic subscription-type service. Just order as needed. They do send emails, but no obligation.

I shave whole-face 4-5 times a week. I don't have a really really thick beard. One cartridge lasts me at least 3-4 weeks. I think I'm on my 5th Harry's cartridge. No complaints.

Edit: cartridges have 5 blades, not 4

I guess I don't understand how people fly through blades. I just sharpen mine on an old pair of jeans once every two weeks and it's great.

Please, tell me more

razor sharpening

I use a merkur heavy classic with parasso shave soap and a brush. People that say it takes to long. It might take maybe two more minutes. I bought a package of about 30 blades 3 years ago. I've grown a few beards, but I still have half of them left.

I did just buy 40 blades for $55 on eBay, but when those are gone, I'm considering dollar shave club.
I said the same thing. I'll be going back to Gillette soon. DSC isn't anything like it's made out to be around here....

I still go to an old timey barber shop... (I know this isn't what this topic is about)
And still get a straight shave (even If I shaved that morning)
Just something special about hot shaving lather and the special feel of a craftsman with a razor.
Wlak out feeling like a million bucks! Even shaves the back of my neck.

My family uses Harry's razors and loves them. The Truman has a nice weight to it. It is so much better than others I've tried. My husband and brother both use them and have been very satisfied with the quality and durability of the blades.

Full beard, shave every other day.

You must have a wispy full beard. I tried Harry's. The handle felt good in the hand and looks good, the blades are shite. Disposable razor quality.
