re: Weed ? ID - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Looks like dallis to me
Downvote away, but this is the correct answer. Roundup (and it still may come back) or dig it out. Nothing selective works...

re: Torpedo grass….. - Tiger-Striped-Bass
No I nuked the area with roundup. 3-4 times over the last month.
I sincerely hope you never see it again. I really do. And you might not for some time, maybe even a whole year or more. Then when you least expect it, you'll see that one blade emerge again, and you'll feel that lump ...

re: Torpedo grass….. - Tiger-Striped-Bass
I think I may have won my battle
It will be back. Sorry to tell you. I've had a couple unnoticeable, small spots in emerald zoysia since 2005. Tried everything from hand-applying straight 41% roundup with gloves and rubbing all of the foliage with it, to baking soda, to quinclorac ...

re: Lawn Clippings - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Because I'd probably have to dethatch every three or four weeks if i didn't bag. The clippings, even if mulched, just take a really long time to decompose. So each cut, those clippings stack on top of the previous clippings. And they just continue to stack up, even if mulched. the blades of this gra...

re: Lawn Clippings - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Emerald Zoysia here too, since 2005. Emerald just doesn't decompose like other grasses. I have an area on the other side of the driveway that's zenith zoysia and there's no comparison. The emerald clippings and thatch heap removed last year is still only about half decomposed. Just the way it is, al...

re: Bermuda in my Zoysia - Tiger-Striped-Bass
spray fusilade
This. Active ingredient is flauzifop something. Ornamec is another brand that contains it and is generally less expensive, I think because of being less concentrated. The mix rate is very low, as it will kill your zoysia if too strong. But the label has instructions ...

re: What were the general thoughts on Mainieri when he was hired? - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Seems I remember he being like the third choice. A couple names everyone was up on didn't pan out and there he was. I guess more favorable than Bianco, but less than that of the bigger names floating around this time. Kinda lukewarm with a spattering of sunshine pumping. ...

re: Why are built-in grills drastically more expensive than free standing? - Tiger-Striped-Bass
I don't have one, so I don't really know. But wouldn't something intended for being built-in be made of better quality due the difficulty of replacing, whereas free-standing grills are considered drag to the road disposable? Edit: Or it could simply be that people who install built-in generally c...

re: Electrical breaker help needed - Tiger-Striped-Bass
The whole point of a breaker is to protect the wire from burning due to over current. It’s not to protect devices. The breaker is sized to trip before the wire reaches it’s max allowable current. So the chances are, whatever is shorted, is most likely something lighter than your circuit wire. That’s...

re: Electrical breaker help needed - Tiger-Striped-Bass
1972’s suggestion removes the wire from the equation just to prove the breaker is good or bad. If the breaker is good, punt to someone with knowledge. ...

re: Electrical breaker help needed - Tiger-Striped-Bass
The breaker hooks onto a retainer clip on the wire/terminal side, and rocks towards the center of the panel to stab onto the buss bar, pivoting on that retainer. So to remove it, you would rock the end in the center, away from the center and towards the side with the terminal. If you can do that fi...

re: Electrical breaker help needed - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Maybe try removing the bulbs and see if that works. I’ve seen incandescent bulbs trip breakers. After that, if you don’t have a meter and some troubleshooting knowledge, might have to get someone who does. Changing a breaker is fairly simple as a last resort before going further. Just unsnap the bre...

re: Electrical breaker help needed - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Try to flip it to the off position first, then back on. Once tripped, it won’t go back on until turned off first If it still trips, likely something is shorted to ground. Could be a fried device or appliance plugged into a receptacle on that circuit. Could be a bad breaker too. Try unplugging ...

re: Killing crepe myrtles - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Commercial herbicide sprayers use various residual herbicides/soil sterilants with their non-selective herbicides mixtures, that would probably work. DuPont Hyvar X is one. It would not allow anything to grow for some time, and proximity to desirable plants would also be a concern. Once it’s down, i...

re: Killing crepe myrtles - Tiger-Striped-Bass
Is there still some kind of base or trunk under ground? If so, I’d try to expose it, wet it and salt it and try to keep it salted. Maybe a heavy layer of table salt first and then rock salt. I really don’t know if that would work or not. But that’s what I’d try. ...
