Wait til after the season when Balsam Hill does their big sale. We bought Mrs Prez a tree to do a theme a few years ago and I think I only paid about $150 for a 7.5’ tree. It’s really nice, like noticeably of higher quality than anything you’d buy at Walmart. We got an unlit one so we don’t have to worry about lights going bad.

My parents had one of those with the color disc.

Get one from Costco

Those of you with fake trees, how do you keep the cat from climbing and ruining it? We've been cutting a Charlie Brown tree from the area around the house since the cat more or less ruined our fake one.

Pre-lit, 5 minutes to put up, heck yeah.
This is the correct answer.

We’ve had a Balsam Hill tree for probably 12 years. Would definitely buy another. Worth the money

Yes, and if you still want a real tree go but a small one and put in another room of the house!
FYI: artificial trees are way cheaper after Christmas!

I think it was a GE from Sam's or Costco? 9 foot, big arse heavy box we still use.

Balsam Hill is the goat. Try to find a sale from there because they are damn expensive

The aphid incident of Christmas '22 sold me on fake trees. Then when we got the fake. I was surprised how tall it looks and feels and I don't have to clean up needles or..bugs

Is it pre-lit? If so how do you go about replacing lights?

We bought a Balsam Hill 3 years ago and love it. The light display and choices are great. We now leave it up all year for various holidays.

I think we are finally moving to an artificial, but man I love the tradition of a real tree.
Every year on black Friday while the morons are shopping, we go to the nursery and get a Frasier fir. I bring it home, put it in the stand because I always forget to bring it with me. Do some extra trimming, give it a day for needles to fall off, then bring it inside and watch my wife(no pics) and daughters decorate it. It is one of my favorite things about the holidays.
But I'll be damned if it aint $200+ for a fricking tree that lasts a month.

Of course someone calling it X mas would have an artificial tree

I was a live tree stalwart. Until a couple of years ago when an 8’ green Douglas fir was going to cost me $200 fricking dollars. No mas
Got a new artificial green tree from target this year. It’s a Philips brand. Was on sale last weekend for $175 marked down from $350

We went to Cleggs after Xmas sale. I got a $2000.00 tree for I think around $250. Have had that thing since 2016 one of my best purchases ever

I think they're even a bit more than that now. I think this will be my last year getting a real tree. I hate the idea of going fake but I've been priced out.
