That's what the Archdiocese gets for rushing to settle some claims without doing much vetting.

I would think my Holy Roman Catholic Church is as close to being a trillion dollar entity as there is. It owns probably a hundred billion or more in art treasures alone. Gold, real estate, buildings, relics, antiquities ...
What do you think the Pieta would fetch?
The NOLA diocese is a phone call away.

So because you found an article about a priest that had his conviction overturned, that means my argument is invalid that the church has molested kids? Not only have they molested kids, they've relocated molesters where, guess what? They continued molesting kids.
Nice deflection though

In filing for bankruptcy protection, Aymond will temporarily halt the demands of creditors as well as the progress of lawsuits seeking compensation for dozens of plaintiffs who claim they were molested by priests, including clergymen who have kept receiving church financial support.
Catholic Church should be destroyed for what they've done to children.

How does the same entity get INSANE tax breaks and bankruptcy protection? I guess raping young boys pays off when you have government protection.

Right. How fricked up were their finances that a few weeks of people not dropping a five in a basket has ruined them.
Especially where they don't pay taxes on a lot of their properties and items.

If only they didn’t shelter the bad ones.

How would you sell the Sistine Chapel? A lot of that stuff isn't exactly liquid assets. And if you flooded the art market with the pieces that are marketable, it would collapse the price. Same with real estate, etc. The Catholic church is like Bezos. Tremendously wealthy on paper. If they tried to cash out they'd get pennies on the dollar.

Archdiocese in Alexandria got the SBA loan for small business. Who knew they were a small business?
