Just remember, you are, AND WILL ALWAYS BE, responsible for child support. And, it doesn't matter what they say or even sign now.

If they get a "divorce" in five years, they (especially the nonrelative) WILL come after you for child support. You will not only owe it going forward, you'll also owe it retroactively. Any agreement they sign now to never ask for child support is null and void as states view it as your obligation to the child and not to the lesbians. And, they lesbians can't sign it away.

I could not do it. I love my kids too much and I would have a really hard time seeing a child that was mine and not being able to raise him - especially if he's raised by two women. This is not meant to be a homophobe issue, it's more of a mysogeny thing.

If they are people you feel deserve the chance to have children, then you should help them..

If you live in Louisiana, and you donate sperm to this "married" couple, I think you might run into child support issues.

Basically you would be a donor to a single woman, because LA doesn't recognize gay marriage. I know of situations like that where the guy ended up on the hook for support. It's a bad look for anyone.

Tell them it would be too weird to have the kid in your life while not being the father, and you'd like to avoid a lifetime of conflict. Seems pretty simple to me.

Not knowing if your donation ever resulted in a birth is one thing, having to watch someone else raise your son/daughter is another.

NONE of that matters.

Every state views the child support obligation as running from the biological parent to the child. He will owe child support regardless.

Some states are even going after anonymous sperm donors.

Personally, I don't think I'd do it. Too many other options to accomplish it and I think it could set up weird future scenarios that would outweigh the "I look like my cousin and the baby might too" benefit.

Yes, heather would have 2 mommies.
No, I'm not banging my cousin.
No, I do not get to donate the old fashioned way. I WNHI anyway.
As some have picked up on, seeing that kid at family events and not saying IM your father would kill me inside.

you should really see a professional with them and figure out what the relationship would be if you did it. I mean they will probably say anything to get that baby, but the more you figure out now the better position you will be in to figure out if it is good for you or not.

Then why would you even consider donating sperm to two obviously confused people.

They can't even make up their minds about even having a kid.

Avoid this mess.
