Don’t knock it until you try VR porn. That and a finger up your arse and you’ll never get married.

I watched a long-form review on YT earlier. They look really intriguing from a tech geek POV but I and just not sure how or if I would use them, especially for $3500.

What’s the gist of them? I assume it presents an augmented reality kind of thing where you can interact with things on the goggle screen? Sort of like Minority Report?

They are going to have a spot. They will get cheaper as well. It’s just going to blend reality and virtual more and more until neuralink is mainstream IMO

I know Apple products are pricey but this thing is $1500 more than I expected it to be.

They need to fix motion sickness before this can fully take off

VR will never take off as long as goggles are more expensive than your computer.

Same here. I’m tempted, but not sure I’ll pull the trigger just yet.

They seem to mark the first time AR is well integrated into your daily phone/web experience, which really feels like a glimpse into the future of smart wearables. As time goes on the tech will get smaller and more comfortable. Hell, it'll probably be a neuralink type of device one day, where you just have something you wear behind your ear or something.

I don't believe they are worth the price tag to anyone but the biggest of tech geeks, but I think they will take off anyway because they are so cool.

If you see me looking like I’m putting it on some chick, mind your business.

I’m working and not looking at naked ladies

Yeah. I suggest watching the mkbhd review, he's always so great at it.

That's what I thought also. If they were $2k or so i'd buy a set just to try out. Can always sell if I don't like them but $3500+ gives me pause.

Compared to other VR headsets, like the meta quest 3, it's not even close to worth the money. It depends what you want to do and if you have the money but this seems more like a case of apple trying to maintain their share of the market in a future tech that seems to be evolving. This product puts them on the map even if it's just hype and largely unaffordable for 99% of apple consumers.

It could also go against them as it pushes the VR space further into the mainstream possibly pushing non-VR users into the hands of meta as they seek out a more reasonable entry price as new VR users.

The other side is you keep apple users in your ecosystem as they can see you're capable of delivering a VR product preventing them from going towards a meta.

If you want a good VR experience, go with the quest though for now.
