The ghost calls thread reminded me to share, its been a game changer

How to Enable Call Screening in iOS 26
Open Settings: Tap the Settings app on your iPhone.
Go to Phone Settings: Scroll down and tap on the Phone app.
Find Call Screening Option: Look for and select "Screen Unknown Callers".
Choose Your Preference:
Ask Reason for Calling: Activates the main screening feature. The caller is prompted, and you see the transcription before answering.
Silence: Sends calls from unsaved numbers directly to voicemail.
Never: Disables screening; all unknown calls ring through.
How Call Screening Works
When activated, an unknown caller is asked by an AI voice for their name and purpose.
Their response is transcribed in real-time on your screen.
You see this transcription and can then choose to answer, silence the call, or send it to voicemail.
Calls that don't provide a reason or are identified as spam go to a separate "Unknown Callers" section in your Recents list.

Pixel already does it

Eh. If it gets an AI voice answer then it knows your phone is active and will keep bothering you and possibly sell your number to other spammers to text or call you
Better to just ignore all unknowns and if its important they can leave a voicemail

If they don't say anything it never rings. I've had it for a while and haven't seen any increase

I mean... It would be one thing if it was last year's model getting it, but my pixel 3a had it and now I'm on the 9 pro and still using it.

Doesn't matter, I have android with the feature and calls get through.
I get about 25-40 unknown number spam calls a day. Most leave voicemails. I spent a week blocking numbers to see if it would reduce the amount, blocked over 300 and still the same every day.

What causes this? That's insane - I'd probably lose my mind. I maybe get a handful per month and I don't have this feature turned on.

I would stand in line in a cold rain for hours and pay through the nose for a phone that would allow me to deliver a 10mm slug at muzzle velocity through the phone and into the ear of these relentless pajeet spam callers!

Phone updated last night.
First of all I hate this "liquid glass" look.
But, it looks like it now screens my text messages too. I get a lot of spam messages. There is now a "Spam" folder in the messages app.

I's all your fault
I screen my phone calls
No matter who calls
I screen my phone calls
Ooh, I'm walking into spiderwebs
So leave a message and I'll call you back
