Had an Escort once upon a time that worked well.
I think it found its way to the bottom of a seldom used tools drawer.

Currently, Uniden R7 best radar detector on the market.

Radenso will have a “game changer” available in 2020, probably towards middle of year.

I understand your need as I drive this I-45 stretch and there are days between Huntsville and Dallas where the state troopers are everywhere.

V1 is still one of the best RDs on the market. I don't know what you are talking about.

I use one everyday. I drive about 40K miles a year and speed all of the time and I have zero tickets. I use a V1. If I was buying one today I’d probably look at the Passport 360. Waze is useless in a lot of the areas I travel and the V1 saves my arse all of the time!

I’m a traveling sales guy and had three tickets in one year about 10 years ago. I paid $200 for a passport Escort and haven’t gotten one since.

If you do a lot of highway driving it’s worth it. It picks up the Texas state troopers Ka band from a good distance away. I’ve been going over 90 many a times and coming up the hill and it goes off and sure enough over the hill is a trooper.

Go to eBay and get a used one. I think they’re worth it

I used to get tickets 2-3 times a year. Now I get 1 every 2-3 years. every time I have gotten one it is because I wasn't paying attention to the radar detector.

Escort with the escort live app running. It’s basically waze attached to the radar detector.

Just a tip about radar detectors...if you do get pulled over, a warning is off the table. You’re getting a ticket.

I've had a gaydar since the early 80s. Wouldn't leave home without it!

Everyday. Works great unless it starts screaming and the word laser pops up

IMO you should Waze and have a decent detector. I grew up in MS and when I was doing a lot of driving to and from LSU I found that worked best. Waze covered almost everything once I got into LA but MS is so rural that a radar can work better on long stretches of highway. I have used the same Escort detector for almost ten years and it has worked fine as far as brands

I’ll mention something that a lot of folks don’t bring up and that’s just having good situational awareness when speeding(anytime you drive really). If you see cars ahead of you all tap their brakes suddenly, slow down cause it could be a cop. Be careful going over hills, wooded areas on interstates, etc. Learn to do these things by habit and you may go years without a speeding ticket and hopefully without accidents.

Bingo on all accounts. It amazes me how many people cannot drive past the car immediately in front of them. They have no ability to anticipate their surroundings.

My old man had one of those damn things in his car back in the early 90's. The fricker kept going off every time we passed a store with electric doors. He threw the thing out after a couple of months.

I have an Escort Passport Max that I purchased in 2014. Handy little device imo. Will upgrade to the latest model the next time I buy a new vehicle.

ummm... the whole idea of a radar detector is to not get pulled over.
