Cary played football at Tulane IIRC.
Until Katrina I believe and then he went to play ball at UVA where he graduated and then moved on to the CFL. Super athletic dude, but definitely a little strange at times.

Was this the special on infertility problems?

I'm not sure. Could've been.

I think so. WBRZ has been doing stories on that for what seems like a couple of weeks now. that would explain the story.

Every once in a while someone asks if anyone on this board believes in conspiracy theories.
Well, I believe in one.
Accutane, and prescription grade acne medication, leads to infertility. I know way too many healthy females in their prime that are having trouble getting pregnant. All of them took accutane as a teenager.
There is no direct link, but there are quite a number of people who believe it is. As someone that has gone through it - it may be that I want to blame something.
Anyway, every time I hear of seemingly healthy people struggling with infertility, my mind goes to this.

What ever you do, dont Google "Koch Painter" at work.
Apparently John Koch was a mid century Impressionist painter from Manhattan... that loved painting gay nude scenes

What's fricked up is that a willing couple wanting to adopt has to spend 40,000 to do so.
Well you have to pay the mother's medical bills, and make sure they have $ for food and vitamins. Then there's the $30,000 "processing charges" aka finder's fee for the attorney.
I'm sure they could've done it themselves, but the unfortunate reality is that its like dogs. If you just want a dog, roll over to the shelter and get one. If you want a specific dog, you pay a breeder. I know its a shitty analogy, but they probably wanted a healthy white girl from healthy parents. There are other cheaper adoption programs, but you don't "get what you want" right away. There's a longer wait for a child like the one they got than saying, "just give me a baby".

You actually don't have to pay for this. Most of the fees are finder fees unless you can line up a birth mother yourself. The homestudy is probably a few thousand. Legal fees that you could minimize by doing it yourself if you had some knowledge.
One of my friends was burned twice paying for the mother's "medical bills". Both times the mother backed out. And these were non-white babies which everyone thinks are easier to get than white babies. She ended up adopting overseas because screw the system.

Well, it is sweeps. All stations are doing those long feature/investigative stories that run 3-4 minutes. Notice you don't see those except in February, May, July, and November? And all the promos advertising specific stories instead of just generic station promos? Welcome to the ratings period.
This is a feature story about how a woman painted like crazy in order to afford an adoption.

I have a feeling painting didn't get all the money. I'd be "shocked" if they did a gofundme.
