Anyone remember the store behind SI and Fred's in the 80s?

All I remember is they had a giant album of flattened VHS box covers for rent you could flip through until you found the one you wanted then they would fetch the tape from behind the counter.

In the beginning they had small stores on one side of Sports Illustrated. Then SI tore down walls and expanded into them.
The bar also got notified by the magazine they couldn’t call themselves SI and had to change the name.

Sport's as Sport's lasted for years after SI got after them. Billy thought the apostrophe would protect him. Then in 1996 as he was getting assaulted on other business ventures, SI put new pressure on him and Regi told him to change the name and sell the place to Darren outright.
Billy owed EVERYONE in BR......and was if not hated, not terribly liked. I worked the door there and I could not stand him. Darren really didn't like him all that much and JL merely tolerated him.....Darren had his own problems.....mostly co-eds

I remember the last time I was in Freds/ Sport's. 1997 got really wasted and hit up Corey's after a game. Was double fisting a burger and chicken sandwiches

Corey was great. We went in there one time and he asked us what we wanted. We said we weren't sure, so he asked "Have you had our burger before?" We said no, and he said "Ahhhh. Well that is why you don't know what you want then".
