I quit with zyn/on pouches. I know a lot of people on here shite on zyn but it worked for me. I was somewhat successful with nicotine patches at first but occasionally I would forget to put one on in the morning and by the time I'd get a craving it was too late for a patch. After a few relapses I tried zyn and I like it. I've been cigarette free for 6 months and I only use the pouches 2-3 times a day now so a pack lasts me over a week. They don't taste or smell bad, they're easy to hide (you can't tell if I have one in my mouth), they don't get stale or go bad. I really don't see any downside to them

Smoked for 8 years, been 21 years since.

Truck rides and after eating was the worse. After 2 weeks they taste like shite. I ate a lot of jolly ranchers and did smoke joints when I felt the need. Hardest part is breaking the habits of it.

I don't mean to brag, but it was quite easy for me. My body just didn't want it anymore. I had no cravings at all. It still shocks me how easy it was. I can't explain it

Why not just say 212 cigarettes..? nobody is gonna look it up.

I do have a spinoff question....

I dip Red Seal, been dipping forever too. Quit during college for a year, then started back.

I want to switch over to a non-tobacco dip. Anyone have any recommendations on a brand? I like Red Seal. Anything close to that flavor?

Same with people who only smoke cigars and frown on people who smoke cigarettes.

Cigars have exponentially higher levels of nicotine than a cigarette.

Also these smoking threads always highlight excessive and extreme amounts of smoking. It’s always the daily smokers who smoke over a pack a day or people that haven’t smoked in 20 years.

Never is there a mention of someone who smokes socially with some drinks. Same with alcohol, there are people who are social drinkers and the same people also smoke only when they drink.

Started at 14, quit at 72. 58 years. 2-3 packs a day. Doctor suggested a lung scan due to my smoking history. Found cancer in my left lung, stage one. Surgery removed a 2" by 3" piece of my lung. Never smoked again. Still cancer free almost 5 years later.

Black Buffalo isn’t bad. I quit for about 7 months and fell off. Now 9 months later, I’m going back to BB. I’ve found that the real stuff is inconsistent in terms of freshness, but that’s a result of local availability. In other words, since the stores in my area don’t order my preferred choice of snuff often enough to get it fresh, I used that as an excuse to quit. Been 22 years on it, so it’s about time to get off the stuff for good. With hunting season around the corner, it’s hard to not want a good dip, but BB does the trick for me.

I'll give it a try. Saw it's a bit more expensive than regular dip.

$12 for 2 cans seems high, but probably worth it to get off tobacco.

Same here for me. It got to the point I was getting disgusted with myself for smoking, so quitting became easy.

I still went to bars to have a few beers, play pool or darts with friends and at that time smoking was still going on in bars, but I didn't have the craving.

When I got home, the first thing I'd do was get out of my clothes and jump in the shower before heading to bed to wash off the stench.

Hypnosis works well. There are many online options that are not too expensive and random free you tubes and podcast's that are free to start-

If you subscribe, it’s like $56 for 10 cans shipped TYD. I take smaller pinches and fewer per day, so 10 cans lasts 30 days.

I’m spending more than that on Cope per can. BB also gives you points for non-subscription purchases. I bought 5 cans for $5 from previous purchases when I was trying it out.

I quit cold turkey after 10 years. for me it was more of a habit instead of an addiction.

I had to consciously stop going inside of gas stations or i would buy a pack of cigarettes. Once i stopped buying them quitting was easy.

had a heart attack at 40 years old in 2019.
haven't had one since.

wasn't "easy", but after that experience, wasn't nearly as difficult as previous attempts.

I was a smoker and a drinker, I gave up both in 1987. Smoking is the easier, after you make it through a few weeks the urge dissipates, then you will get to a point that tobacco smoke is nauseating.

I did but honestly, I'm an anomaly in that I just slowly got sick of them. At my peak was a half a pack a day smoker for a few years..then it dwindled to mornings and coming home from work, then sometimes I would not smoke the entire one after work...then one day I took one puff and said..ya know...i think I'm done with this....never smoked again

I also dipped Red seal.

I tried alternatives and they were all bad. I'm on Beef Jerky Teriyaki now and it satisfies along with sunflower seeds.

After 45 years I read Allen Carr's 'Easy Wat To Stop Smoking' and quit. That was 8 years ago.
